I downloaded a Windows 10 test VM from Microsoft to verify some software I'm writing for a client.
I FUCKING COULDN'T WORK BECAUSE THE CPU WAS SLAMMED TO 100% WITH GOD DAMN BACKGROUND TELEMETRY, UPDATES, AND OTHER ASSORTED SHIT.
I finally started force quitting some of the shit to try and free up the CPU. A test which should have taken 15m took over an hour. Even though it was a VM running on OS X with complete separation set in Parallels, I still feel dirty, like I need to inspect/clean my Mac and wonder about what data MS collected.
Why anyone would install or use this piece of shit OS is beyond me. I have to have Windows PCs and VMs because of work at the moment, but I would be perfectly happy coding for OS X or Linux for the rest of my life and never touching WinShit again.

XP was the last version with hardware acceleration for the classic theme. This matters a lot even on new hardware, just slide windows around on 7. Starting with vista it was obvious UI elements weren't made with it in mind and parts looked bad. 2000 is the best variant.

Given that this problem only appears in the third quarter of 2015, it's been patched out.
