>tfw fell for the android meme
guys I bought a Nexus 6p because everyone says it's better at multitasking because it keeps apps running in the background but everytime I try to go from one app to another, like say going from chrome to calculator then back to chrome, it reloads the webpage again just like iphone does. or if I go from chrome to a game it would reload the game again.

so what exactly makes it better than the iphone?
>>
>>53978031
By multitasking, we meant listening to music while browsing the internet, having real time notifications, not fetched.
There's also things like custom launchers and filesystem access.
>>
What are the chances the HTC M10 will have an unlocked bootloader? I've been wanting to upgrade to one of the new flagships, but they're all locked down tight so far.
>>
>/spg/
>no news

Also what do you guys think I can get for my One M8 when I want to trade it in for the HTC 10?

Any good providers that would offer a deal with contract?
>>
>>53978077
>listening to music while browsing the internet
my old dumbphone can do this shit

>real time notifications
what? when my friends sends a mass text i sometimes get it after my friends who have iphone
>custom launchers
the novelty of this gets old after a while
>filesystem access
this is actually great

wait so android multitasking is the same shit as iphone? that's really disappointing

Sony phones are generally very expensive and remain so for their entire lifetime from what I see. The Z3C on expansys.ca is almost as expensive as the Z5C ($469 vs $549) to this day.

It is and you'll be glad to know that boost will give you more high speed data for $30 a month with auto re-boost (you can cancel any time).

Higer res screen, more RAM, more storage space for a lower price, expandable storage up to 200GB (soon 256GB). The ability to use your phone as a flash drive. The ability to browse files on your phone without having to hack it. The ability to torrent on your phone without having to hack it. The ability to transfer files other than movies/photos by wifi-direct. The ability to run more apps and games at the same time without running out of ram (aka multi-tasking). And so much more.

That's when you start asking yourself "What are some good unlocked 4G phones from china?" And there are some worthy brands, like Xiaomi, Meizu, Lenovo, Ulefone, and upcoming Vernee. And they cost less too.
>>
>>53978031
The advantages of Android over iPhone lie purely in user freedom. You can customise what you want, install whatever software you want, hardware is much easier to open up and get it repaired either by yourself or a third party, you get expandable storage with microSD cards, you can install new batteries, Google Play Store isn't region locked, you can side load apps from outside of the Play Store so you're not limited to what Google says you can and can't have on your own phone.

The advantages of iPhone over Android lie in a smooth OS that doesn't shit itself on the odd occasion, you get software updates for a very long time and Apple really push their devices to their limits before they drop software support, they interoperate very well with other Apple devices.

These days there is no objectively superior option when it comes to choosing between Android and iPhones, it's now purely down to subjective user preference.
>>
How is the S7's audio quality? Decently usable as a music player for casual listening? The S5 was pretty disappointing in that regard, but I don't want to have to get a G5 to have a phone that doesn't sound like shit.
>>
>>53980709
>The advantages of iPhone over Android lie in a smooth OS that doesn't shit itself on the odd occasion, you get software updates for a very long time and Apple really push their devices to their limits before they drop software support, they interoperate very well with other Apple devices.
I had more problems on my iPhone 6S than on my Sony Z5, iOS is a train wreck.

>These days there is no objectively superior option when it comes to choosing between Android and iPhones, it's now purely down to subjective user preference.
Objectively android phones are superior, they have better specs, and do the same thing iPhones do if not better for a lower cost. Look man you've obviously never owned an iPhone in your life and are talking out of your ass. If you would have owned an iPhone you would know how shitty and overpriced they are.
>>
>>53980714
All phone DACs are pretty much the same except on chink brands. I've carefully listened to songs over and over again on a moto e and on my S4 to see if I could hear "better" sound quality. I didn't, both phones literally sounded the same to me. If you want a media player just use your phone or get a moto e.
>>
Is touchwiz still lagwiz? I heard you can turn off most of the bloat these days, and phone specs these days should be enough to just power past it, no?
>>
>>53980754

>>
>>53980754
>>53980754
>iOS is a train wreck

If by "train wreck" you mean "stable and secure" then yes, it is.

>they have better specs
Which means nothing because Android is nowhere near as optimised as iOS. An iPhone that's three generations old will run iOS just as well as the latest Android phone runs it's own OS.

>do the same thing iPhones do if not better for a lower cost.
But often at lower quality too since developers often pay less care and attention to Android apps than they do with iOS apps.

>Look man you've obviously never owned an iPhone in your life

>>
>>53980822

>>
>>53980850
Discounting Samsung (who can't really be trusted since they got caught cheating with the S5) then yes
>>
>>53980850
>Don't iPhones score better on benchmarks?
They do but in real world use iPhones overheat occasionally and are crippled by the fact that they have less RAM in sustained multi-tasking. Over time my iPhone 6S became a hot laggy piece of shit. My Z5 doesn't have that problem.
>>
>>53980918
>crippled by the fact that they have less RAM in sustained multi-tasking.

iOS isn't like Android where it needs 8GB RAM and quad-core CPUs just to keep the OS from crashing
>>
>>53980861
>If by "train wreck" you mean "stable and secure" then yes, it is.
No it's not and the FBI has been using backdoors on iPhones for years to recover "encrypted" data.

>Which means nothing because Android is nowhere near as optimised as iOS. An iPhone that's three generations old will run iOS just as well as the latest Android phone runs it's own OS.
No it won't, apple makes older iPhones laggier on purpose with each new update to encourage people to get the latest iPhone. I would also say Android is more optimized than iOS.

>But often at lower quality too since developers often pay less care and attention to Android apps than they do with iOS apps.
The opposite is true in my experience.

>No it's not and the FBI has been using backdoors on iPhones for years to recover "encrypted" data.
Oh and I guess Android is completely immune to security holes eh? When was the court case between FBI and Google where they couldn't break in to an encrypted Android device? (And yes I'm well aware the FBI eventually found a vulnerability in iOS that allowed them to drop the case).

>No it won't, apple makes older iPhones laggier on purpose with each new update to encourage people to get the latest iPhone.
Old phones get laggier because that's how new software works, new software gets more demanding thus old hardware can't run it for so long. If Apple really wanted to force people to upgrade to every latest iPhone then why do they still push software updates to the 4S which is 5 years old now?

>I would also say Android is more optimized than iOS.
That's not even possible since Android runs on a much broader hardware base than iOS.

I get it kiddo, you don't like Apple but you don't have to resort to straight up lying.

>Will the new HTC be able to knock the s7 King off its throne?
Nope.

I just got done having an HTC one m8 for 2 years. Just upgraded to the S7 Edge.

I'll say this, the HTC phones have incredible speakers as far as phones go. They can fill a room with high quality loud music. The metal casing is also nice. Outside of that, the galaxy is superior and I've only had it for 4 days and I can say that. It's just a more intuitively friendly phone.
Little things like the way apps work in the background without disturbing you. It's all very helpful.

And the battery life... the HTC one has a huge battery problem in that after about a year, they stop collecting significant charge. I had to order a replacement phone after a year and now a year later, I had the same problem.

Plus it's nice that the galaxy is supported everywhere with peripherals and pretty much all software.

The one thing I'll say is you don't need the edge varient. It's pretty much just a pointless gimmick, but both are far better than HTC.

Galaxy S7 Edge is bigger than the HTC One, albeit slightly
>>

Here's the truth, if you're not getting an iPhone or Galaxy, you're taking a risk.

Those are the only two that are guaranteed to be supported for the duration of a 2 year contract.

>>

Screen size is such a non factor.

Scott Croyle Left the company during the M9 designing process and started Nextbit (Robin)

He's apparently the guy behind the M7.

After he left HTC abandoned the idea of being a western creative company, to become a MBA company, which means copy the competition. They released the M9 with 8 variants and Launched the iPhone like HTC A9. Now the HTC 10 looks like they want to do the samsung thing.

After my SII was stolen from me in Rome, I quickly bought a Note1, thinking that people always saying "it's got more pixels than my old TV, who would notice that?" could be right. I was wrong, and them too. Still to this day - 2560x1440 hurts in my eyes when reading Text with a PenTile Diamond Bullshit Array. chromatic aberration in displays of 2016 flagship phones that get sold for double the price their predecessors once cost - it is truly a shame, especially how the press and every Tech Channel and vlog faggot lies about it. Note 1 had the really old PenTile Layout with RGBG like in S1 or HTC Desire (early AMOLED version), only Note 2 and S2 had the Plus which stands for RGB.
S, S3, S4, S5, S6, S6 Edge, S7 Edge, Note, Note 3, Note 4 all have slightly varying PenTile arrangements, never ever RGB. And you can see that.. 40cm to the eye, I already noticed a purple horizontal line differing the Google Search Widget from the background. On a second glimpse, I started to detect a green line on the bottom of the widget too - and literally ragequittet from that store. I am in anger. And in fear. And feel powerless against all those "Tech reviews", articles, vlogs and Bullshit flying around the net stating Samsung having the best displays ever made, thus making their Devices the best smartphones im a glimpse - in the S8, we will get introduced to USB Tyoe-C3.1 that was introduced in 2015. in the S9, my hopes are big that we will see RGB come back from 2011 - and I really wonder how the world will view upon that, realizing the shills fell for the PenTile meme even after Samsung itself debunked it with their ads for RGB displays in 2011 and 2012. God do I hope for some suicides.

that was a showcase phone fully featured and ready to use.
It is all due to the PenTile Diamond array in the subpixels. If you Focus on a white Surface in the interface, you'll notice the AMOLED with not RGB(only ones with RGB were S2, Note2) having frickles compared to a lower resolution LCD. Did that with the S7 versus HTC One M8. Also saw the S7 Edge, and many other Models such as the S6 Edge Plus, and I ALWAYS See the problems that result from the PenTile Matrix used in these. I'm not a Samsung Hater, I had the S2 and Note1 - but just can not live with displays that not use RGB Layout. My eyes may be better than normalfag ones, but still the Samsung displays nowadays can't even top their own ones from 2011 and 2012. I'm sad that the press lies about this circumstance all the time and everywhere I seek for information.
