How about being SATA2 or SATA3?
>>
>>53967806
Depends on your needs. If it's for storage a 5400rpm green drive would suffice. If for system usage, it will not. Platter generation also determines speed. Check for benchmarks. They exist for all drives. WD Blue is sufficiently reliable. WD Black are reliable + high performance.

More Stupid Questions:
So I reinstalled Windows alongside arch, and I have two drives. the one that windows is on is an ssd, and arch/my windows games are on the hdd. The problem is that everything in that hdd is compressed for some reason. Is it safe to uncompress it and go on without it breaking arch on the other partition? It seems dumb but idk how intrusive windows is these days.

I have this PC with a 560ti displaying on an old 40" LCD TV.

I recently upgraded the TV to a 65" Sony 4K smart TV. Only on this site, on page refreshes usually where videos are involved (embedded webm, youtube links, etc...) randomly but often enough the whole screen blacks out for a second.

The TV works great in all other cases, and works great playing vidya too. Rarely will it occur not on 4chan.org too, but it happens related to opening web pages with videos.

I disabled hardware acceleration in firefox, but how can I fix the problem? I upgraded the video drivers to the latest too. Nothing shows up in the Windows event viewer too.

For an HDD, it makes no difference at all. Even a brand new WD Black won't be saturating SATA2 bandwidth, you only have a reason to care about whether it's SATA 2 or 3 when you're looking at SSDs.

Nope. Your board only supports DDR4 RAM. Coincidentally, this is the only thing you really need to care about.
Forget about latency, CL ratings, and clock speed, and just pick a set of DDR4 sticks that looks good with your other components if you're into aesthetics, or the cheapest one you can find if you don't care. Just make sure it's DDR4.

>>53968231
CL/latency is the amount of time between when the CPU asks for something from memory and when it gets it.
Honestly, neither RAM clock nor latency really make a difference to most applications since as your RAM clock goes up, your latency also goes up. In big business/server operations it matters because you can pick your RAM based on your use case (if you're going to be reading lots of sequential, predictable data, a higher speed will improve performance. If you're going to be randomly accessing memory then lower latency will improve performance). To the average end user, high clocks or low latency are basically for nothing more than bragging rights.

Will I notice a huge difference between the Samsung 950 m.2 SSD and its SATA counterpart? It's for my laptop, which is running an i5-6300U if that makes a difference.
I wouldn't say I do anything much more disk-intensive than the average user, but a lot of the time if there are any hangups on my machine, it's because of the disk (According to the Windows task manager, at least). I do play games on it quite a bit.

I can only afford either a 256GB NVMe or a 500GB SATA, so I'm not sure if the size difference will outweigh the benefit of the speed difference.

There's no problem with the cache. There's a problem with thinking that SATA3's bandwidth makes a difference to an SSHD.

Here's a hint: You might see bigger numbers on crystaldiskmark after one or two runs because then it starts benchmarking the cache rather than the drive itself, but in the real world you'll see no difference between SATA2 and SATA3 on an SSHD.

>>53968663
>Will I notice a huge difference between the Samsung 950 m.2 SSD and its SATA counterpart?
Depends on use case scenario. Given what you said you're using your machine for, no, you won't see a notable difference in speed outside of benchmarks.

are there any simple uploaders(without bloat and 500 screencapture options I dont need) for pomf clones or maybe support for other image hosts with context menu, that is just right clicking the file and having the option to send to the site for mac/windows?

What kind of IO do you use? Does your computer have more than one port?
Sometimes badly shielded ports can cause static. My old Antec 900's front 3.5mm jack used to buzz whenever something was read from the hard drive. At the worst you could get a sound card which will have better shielding than the shite they put on motherboards.

>2 - Why the fuck is dialogue so quiet on blu ray /dvd movies but the explosions and shit are so loud, can I do anything to even out the sound?
Play with the equalizer. It's probably because explosions use more bass than treble and your speakers have louder low frequencies.

Lets you say that the class you're writing does a certain thing that other classes might also do
>when to properly use static in classes without fucking things up
Static methods: Think to yourself "would I ever want to call this, even if no objects have been created yet?" If yes, make it static. You can only call a non-static method when you've done a "new" first.
Static variables: Use when you want to share some data between every instance of an object. For example, if you want to give every object a unique id you might store the last id that an object gave itself so that the next one that gets made can just add one. Honestly, you can get away without learning these, they're rarely used in code besides specially engineered examples.
Static classes: These are actually considered bad practice so you could get away without learning these. These are used when every method and variable in a class is also static and are basically saying that there's no point creating an instance of the class because it won't do anything.

As for learning it, your best bet is to just program something without guidance under the exam conditions and figure it out yourself with Google, it'll click a lot more than just studying books if you get some hands-on experience.
>>
>>53969858
Because it takes a lot more to design them. With a standard sized ATX case you're paying for the facade on the outside, whereas a media center/mini itx case has to be designed to be dense and with passive airflow in mind.

>What is a PWM fan?
pulse width modulation, means you can control the fan speed in realtime from the OS or firmware (think how the CPU fan can spin up or down depending on how hot the core is)
>Are noctua fans worth it or should i just get some cooler master fans for $10 less?
Do you care about nose? If yes, get Noctuas (or Gentle Typhoons)
>Or should i replace the 2 cooler master fans in my case for noctua ones?
See above
>If my motherboard only has 3 fan connectors how i can connect 5 fans?
Get a PWM fan splitter, it will mean that you'll have to control some of your fans in pairs (a good way to do it might be to have one front and one rear fan on each splitter, meaning that you could run one pair of fans all the time and only kick the other pair in when it gets too hot)
>Can i make 2 fans work at the same speed using only one connector? like 2 frontal fans only using one connector?
Yes, see above.
>The fact that my case top is open will affect airflow or temperatures?
Hot air rises, so any components whose heat doesn't get circulated by fans such as RAM or PSU will exhaust passively through the top

>>
>>53970123
PWM stands for pulse width modulation. A PWM fan will grant greater control over the fan's speeds. Decibel level is the most important factor I take into consideration when it comes to personal desktop computer cooling.
Most PSU's come with fan power connections. If not you can buy molex to 3 pin fan connection converters. Yes 2 fans can work with 1 connector.

I should have read your last question first because it nullifies everything I just said. Open cases do not benefit much from directed airflow. Open cases are much more dependent on ambient temperatures and so long as you have air moving through your case you're not going to get lower temps.

Install the client, usually OpenVPN, and plug in the log in details.

There is not "best" provider AFAIK. It depends on where you are, where the websites you want to access are, etc. Most are pretty interchangeable so Google is probably your best bet. I wouldn't go in for any annual subscriptions if I were you. The VPN providers tend to pop up, do their thing for a while, and disappear if they start getting banned for a lot of things (Netflix, Chinese Great Firewall, Iranian firewall, etc). I suspect that some just rebrand and change IPs and relaunch.

You say that like these are two separate things, when they are not. This question is really, "Do I want my app to run in a browser or in its own window".

>And what language could I use for that
Well you COULD use basically any programming language. What language do you prefer? Personally I would probably go python on an RPi. You could use Tornado in python to write a webapp, or py-GTK to write a desktop app.

Pretty sure 3 pin can control the speed as well.

Both 4 pin and 3 pin have positive, negative, and speed monitor pins. My understanding is the fourth pin is a control pin which sends a signal as a Pulse Width Modulation to a small chip in the fan, while 3 pin uses Pulse Width Modulation on the power supply to the fan to control speed.

I could be wrong, but that is my understanding.

Gamma adjusts brightness, but in a non-linear way to make each step more even.

Basically, we process light and sound logarithmically, which is why it's easy to see the difference between "off" and "very dim" but struggle with the same level of difference between "very bright" and "completely on".

Gamma adjust changes the brightness of a screen so that 1 unit of change produces a perceived change that's equal at all points in the range between completely off and completely on.

>>53971942

>>
>>53971990
So, when I turn off the lights and want to watch something it's better to modify the gamma instead of brightness?
>>
>>53971877
Brightness is a general term for how "bright" or how intense the light is. Adjusting the brightness is usually a linear modifier (e.g +5 brightness, or -10, etc).

Gamma refers the mathematics of how you lay our various brightness levels across the colorspace you have (usually RBG). It is usually a curve so not all values are affected evenly.

This is why games make you adjust the gamma. Adjusting the brightness so you can see dark things would wash out the bright values, but adjusting the gamma curve brings all values into the visible range.

The ISP just provide the broadband.
Where I live the customers have to buy their own hardware.
And there aren't much contract as much as "Here's this month's payment"
I was worried if my old hardware isn't up to date with current ISP sectors hardware or some stuff like that.
