She has nothing to hide /g/

So why do you have things to hide?
Is it not your responsibility to protect your nation and peers in this time of need?

Do you not have other things in life to be focused on?

What I say and do in private is no business of third parties, however well meaning such snooping might be.

Hi there!

Nobody needs to justify why they "need" a right: the burden of justification falls on the one seeking to infringe upon the right.

Arguing that you don't care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don't care about free speech because you have nothing to say.

This pic on the right, no not the dog, is a chembuster.
It's used by aluminium-foil-hats wearing dumbos to prevent chemtrails from reaching them.
Some people would put up the rational argument that "water and stones can not remove toxincs from the air".
But the Aluminium-Foil-Hat-Fraction can bring up the argument that they have no traces of toxins since they have a Chembuster.

Well, here you go.
9/11 justified the violations of privacy, but you have no serious terrorism ever since.
But maybe this is not because of the NSA, it's because nobody cares about flying airplanes in your shitty buildings.
No one will violate your privacy for the better cause of fighting terrorism.

It's all because of
ECONOMIC
ESPIONAGE

Nuff said.

problem is that there's shittons of user data there.

or just steal it like they supposedly did with the world's largest offshore business law firm, the entire citizen registry of turkey, and most DMVs in the U.S., all in the last 2 weeks.

it's extremely obvious that allowing any government or third-party organization any access to the content of any encrypted communications whatsoever is a terribly ignorant idea, simply because there exists one more large attack vector to account for.

the best answer to "omg we need ur plaintext 4 security" is "fuck off you'll just compromise it"

For all those saying they have nothing to hide

Please give me access to your cellphone, email addresses, various porns sites and every account you've ever made. Let me rummage through all of your photos, videos, messages and accounts. We'll see just how much you have to hide.

The govt has no reason to steal your identity when they already have all the documents for it anyway.

So this is what Americans are pumping out of their schools???? Feels great to be Canadian.
>>
>>53943934
Why would a terrorist plan things on electronic devices? Why would they use credit cards instead of cash? Pajeet can burn paper easily but doesn't know how to securely erase a disk.

Because they are dumb and brazen, but if the government could know what they did on their iPhones, they would go back to swapping notes at dead drops. The only people who would suffer would be regular americans doing harmless shit like buying drugs because it's impossible to get a pure substance from a street dealer but very possible to find an illicit retailer who discloses and photographs their process and even offers refunds.
>>
>>53943863
>>If all you do is look at it then there is no issue.
but once someone else has the information, there's no way of ensuring that all they do is look. Or how they look, or when they look, or what conclusions they draw from looking. And even if you trust them today, they don't forget, and you might not trust them tomorrow. Say [Trump, Clinton, whoever you like the least] gets elected. Might be a hive of villainy not seen since the Nixon administration, and you might not prefer that government have a complete record of your entire online life. Too late, they have it already. Your only defense is to never give it to them in the first place.

The government was never intended to be this big and I don't want a babysitter. You cowards who say otherwise are giving up the only things you have left that seperate you from being a wage slave for Uncle Sam.Snap out of it!
>>
>>53944810
I value my privacy and have little respect for large swaths of the law, particularly the parts concerning automobile traffic, copyright, and personal morality.
>>
The idea that the government should be able to snoop through your emails because you personally have nothing to hide is a red herring. The real argument is: do you want to live in a world where the government knows everything about everyone? Even the most law-abiding citizen can see a need for journalists, activists, whistle-blowers, etc to keep things private from the government.

Legally and historically, it seems that the prohibition against general warrants would explicitly rule out thsse sort of surveillance techniques. But we live in a world where storing trillions of private communications isn't "collection" and a query of that data isn't a "search."

>because it's a waste of resources.
This seriously, people are going to do dumb shit like shoot up places because they're fucked in the head and shootings have become glamorized by the media just like terrorist threats are. They don't need any justification to do it once they've made up their mind and digging through their conversations won't solve an act of violence already committed by the unstable individual. Over scrutinizing US citizens is the least of their problems, its just hard when people are pissing their pants and demanding a safe solution to the unpredictable thread of emotionally frustrated angry white kids with access to weapons and terrorists because of how much exposure main stream media gives these topics.

Even if i have nothing to hide, it feels fucking horrible to be spied.

Let's make an example, being spied is like panty raids, with the raiders being the NSA and the panties being your computer's files, they are going to get sniffed (and probably nutted on because :-DD)

The only reason the government wants to spy on you is to simply feed on the greedy, unmoral and evil lawyers from big corps with info of X person having pirated copies of Y item from Z big corp or because they want you to stop having freedom, as plain and simple as it gets (chances are this might happen and USA will become communist/socialist)

Why not put in a shred of effort?
