if you want to get hired with no degrees you have to show your passion and skills -before- sending a resume.
i bet you just sent your standardized job application and cv, didn't you.
>>53931684
True. A degree mainly testifies that you can endure stress and are passionate about what you do. Also that you are able to learn for yourself it necessary.
>>53931571
degrees are useless because they typically cater to the average student so if you're above average you're not going to be mentally challenged unless you literally take your education into your own hands and do extra work on top
however degrees give 1-2-3 or whatever YEARS of experience as far as interviews go, and what, you put 3 months experience at a bootcamp on your resume?
if you actually want a job then open a fucking github account and work on projects, or continue your bootcamp, or whatever, and do that for several months to a year, and don't be surprised if your helloworld and fizzbuzz examples don't get you employed - they're looking for people capable of doing the job with minimal training, they're not looking to train people from the ground up to be capable of the job
>>53931721
>degrees are useless
t. Jobless poor NEET
>>53931571
>I only have 3 months of rushed semi-education in the field
So employable
Do you have any related job experience?
>>53931571
>Follows /g/'s advice .....
>Take Java
You are a complete fuck up
>>53931721
just to add to this, java is an OLD AS HELL language primarily used in enterprise solutions with dozens of pain in the ass frameworks and libraries to master, the competition for java based jobs is fierce as hell as a result and you'll likely come up against serious competition, you'll have better luck with javascript and ruby as you can use whatever flavour of the month framework the employee will be using and nobody else will have more than a few months of experience because the frameworks themselves won't even be that old
HE HAS NO JOB
HE HAS NO SCHOOL
THIS NEET IS
A FUCKING TOOL
If the interviewer or the person shifting through the CVs at HR has a degree and sees that you don't you're landing on the trash heap.
>>53931739
just look at the statistics of how many CS graduates get jobs in their respective fields of study after graduating, and then realise spending 3 years contributing to projects on github or the like will be far more valuable as interviewers and project managers looking for talent will be able to see exactly what you're capable of versus yet another fresh CS graduate that won't be able to solve fizzbuzz or any other pleb-tier interview questions on the spot
>>53931817
You're not talking from a position of experience so I didn't read the post.
>>53931814
do you really want to work for a soulless company that outsources HR work and doesn't have the project managers or technical staff aiding in the interview process though? that's what I thought
I have a healthy wage that enables me a dignified life without a degree or bootcamp.
Most of my superiors have no degrees, only the non technical team leads and above do.
When I applied for jobs the last time I could choose between three companies after five applications. I could even chose one of three teams in the company I am currently working at.
You just suck.
>>53931828
>You're not talking from a position of experience
neither are you new friend :^)

>Put my bootcamp on my resume

>it's nothing but math, calc of things that I have never used ever since I graduated from high school
>doing fine like always, but I forgot most of these things
>teachers don't allow calculators in class
>algorithms and classes for people that have never touched a computer before
>there are people in my class that think they're getting a CS degree
>no WD stuff
what the fuck is going on? Is this college?

You're the mistaken one here.

OP ABSOLUTELY BTFO
>>53931888
>web development
>software development
Pick one
>>53931908
No, the course is for web development, it's literally the name of the degree I'm getting.
It's not CS. But still, people in my class think they're getting a CS degree.
>>53931571
OP you really have some research to do if you think that taking some shitty summer course is comparable to a 5-year degree. You'll need more than
just learning Java if you aim to get a REAL job, but I'm sure you already know that.
>>53931773
kek
>>53931933
That's exactly what I'm saying, I think I mispoke something. Sorry.
The degree is for web development. But so far, it feels like it's something like software development, and it's cool, ok, I like to learn new things and I've been having a blast. But it's not what I want.
And I take another look at this semester classes, and the following semester, no one is gonna left as software devs, but they will not have any ground for being a web developer either. It's... Odd.
>>53931888

rekt.
>>53932775
doesn't look like disgust to me
It's not /g/'s fault the job market is complete shit right now. Even "properly educated" people (lol) are working at Wal*Mart checkouts or McDonalds burger flipping because real jobs don't fucking exist.
And yet richfucks continue to lie and say the economy has improved and is "stable". Lol. Fucking lies.

>Get meme'd irl in that a HNC is worth dogshit
>So far 350~ applications
>Not even 1 fucking reply
I just desire for death, just end my eternal suffering, why do I have to live in pain? Why only bad things happen to me? Why the fuck everyone lies to me constantly and tricks me into doing things that are actively harmful for me?
it's not learning the thing that's important, it's having a fucking resume with several years worth of (good) work on it. a degree is expensive but it will get you that, and it will likely be easier than more fun than teaching yourself
>>53931571
>Follows /g/'s advice
Hahahahahahaha..
Took me 6 months to get a EE job. 56K with really good benefits (fresh out of uni) but still its fucking hard to get a job now even in good STEM fields.
