Hey all, I'm building my very first PC and I would like some input.

I mainly want a PC that can run basic 1920x1080 at 60-80 fps reliably and with most games that you throw at it.

I don't know about PCs so most of my choices are based off quick google searches on what's good, what's not good, etc.

I'm looking for advice, help, or any tips that you would give to someone building a PC for the first time.

Here's a list to my build

Do you really _need_ an i7 to run most games at 60fps now? If you're doing more than just gaming like benchmarking or more, sure, but the i5 does pretty damn well at playing games that profit from multicore processing.

Maybe I'm just talking out of my ass, and maybe money is no concern with you.

btw FUCK the 970 for a mid card, wait for the end of this year or go AMD

Get a 6600k if you want, it runs a bit cooler and will probably be good for futureproofing. Get 8 x 2 RAM again, just because in the next year or two many AAA games will be moving to bigger ram requirements.

Drop the CD reader, that's gay as shit, you don't need one. Pirate Windows, and don't buy speakers you moron.
>>

Wrong advice. You're gay
>>
>>53926967
i disagree with "dropping the CD reader" but you can't say going with dual channel memory is a gay idea

Why not skylake?
>>

Drop Windows completely. Install Gentoo
>>
This is $100 cheaper and is better for your needs
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NPhdNG

You don't need a 750w power supply
If you're only going to be playing games at 1080/60fps you don't need an i7
buying a gayming headset that is headphones + mic is going to give you shit headphones and a shit mic. Buy decent ones independently and it would probably be cheaper and much better quality.

The headset is serious garbage, look up the phillips shp9500 and the vmoda pro mic which will attach to the headphone jack on those god tier headphones. Also you can get windows keys for 30 dollars on a bunch of sites then just install windows to your computer using a USB stick. Also I might recomend buying the best i5 and throwing money at a 980 instead, but thats not a huge deal

I read it's better to buy your parts locally then online. If something goes wrong or something doesn't fit, work, etc, you could take it back.

>970

My nigga. Just remember you're siding with a company that doesn't actively try to silence people who give non favourable reviews like ayymd.

have you never heard of RMA? i know it' sounds confusing for a first timer but all you literally have to do is ship the product back and they'll send you a new one.
most tech companies pay for return shipping as well as long as whatever is wrong with the product wasn't caused by you.

4CHAN is the wrong place for this shit

Get an SSD (840 or 850 series SSD)
Downgrade your GPU. For 1080p, you only need an R9 380 or GTX 960
i7 isn't needed, get the i5-4690k.
Get a CPU Cooler (212X, imho)
Get better RAM. 1 8GB Stick is a bit too "budgetish". Dual channel FTW
Get a 2TB HDD. Seagate isn't that bad. It's good for budget.
"Gaming Keyboards" that aren't mechanical are usually dogshit. If you want good peripherals, get a mechanical keyboard with a switch of your choice and a reputable mouse from a brand such as Logitech.
Monitor is shit, get something with a lower response time.
Use Windows 7. Not a botnet, and and drivers are still supported, and you can always switch to 10 if you want.

One more basic tower you can oc, sli, and when it gets old you can take out the gpu and slam 8 drives in it so it can be a server.

Just drop whatever card you can afford in.
