Hi /g/, I recently purchased a second hd 5870 for $10 instead of upgrading because crossfire, but I can't find any crossfire profile for gta v in the latest drivers.
How can I crossfire my hd 5870s? All I play is gta v and bf4.

The thing is, HD5000, HD6000, and HD7000 are all different types of architecture.
Nvidia has had practically the same core architecture since they moved to the unified model with the 8x00 series.
It's ridiculously less easy to make drivers across three different arches, especially with the above mentioned lack of sales and cashflow.

First card was 3 years ago for a hundred dollars actually, second one was a week ago for $10. It had issues where the card would run too hot and loud, but changing the thermal paste fixed that.
5000 and 6000 were using a VLIW based arch, 7000 and newer is GCN which is RISC.

It was never supported. Multi-GPU is necessarily a game-by-game implementation. The game has to be coded, from the ground up, to work with multi-GPU. It's not even a driver thing--parallel rendering is in the API--so you can't blame AMD for this one.
No developer is going to waste time coding for some adapter from 7 fucking years ago. It's insane to even think that would happen. Buy a new gpu and move on or keeping playing the toaster you've got.
