tfw gmusicbrowser is actually best linux music player out there
>>
I have this pre-installed from the distro but never used it. I'll try it just for the hell of it.

TFW MPlayer is actually the best

Eh its not bad, the Xubuntu devs are pushing Clementine hard for the next release, how do people like it?
>>
I'm still using XMMS

Come at me
>>
I like gnome-music a lot, looks so cute.
>>
In what way is gmusicbrowser better than cmus?

Why use anything other than cmus?
>>
>>53920672
if you want to display album art and also, not being a desktop thread ricer faggot.
>>
mpd & ncmpcpp
>>
>>53920693
Why would you want to display album art when you're playing music?

Do you sit there and stare at the album cover while the album is playing rather than just letting your music player sit in the background while you do other things?

If you do that why wouldn't you just use an image viewer that can display it at a proper resolution rather than having a music player that half-asses it?

What if you have no reason to start up X, but you still want to listen to music?

mpd + ncmpcpp?
>>
>>53921510
Maybe! I've been using cmus since 2006 so it's a bit ingrained... I like the vim-like controls and I'm used to it, but I could be convinced to switch, and mpd has always been interesting.

How would you say it compares, or what makes it good?
>>
>>53919066
I liked it when I used it. I actually got pretty excited over it. I wish I could edit the layout and have a tempo controller plugin.
Maybe you can and I'm a moron, but that's it.

show your player
>>
>>53919066
Amarok is the best linux music player unless you didn't have enough common sense 2016 to install kde, and in which case clementine should suffice.

looking good, lad.
not a fan of this album view, but I'm conservative with space.
how did you got to integrate the radio in there? I'm using radiotray, and besides being convenient, I could ditch that.

plus, what distro is this, and how did you get to show the memory usage up there?
I'm taking links, keywords, whatever. whatever's convenient for you.

I have a wonderful music player. It's called command line with python scripts and mpv.

works great. can play by regex match etc. sort or randomize.

gui shit
>>
I have an awesome music player. It's called iTunes with OSX El Capitan.

works great. Not only do I have my local music library at hand but I can also stream any song on iTunes thanks to Apple Music.

As an added bonus thanks to iCloud all my podcast positions are synced at all times between my Retina MacBook Pro mid 2015 and iPhone 6.

If there's a song in FLAC or one I'm not interested in adding to my library, I use mpv.

Personally, I like Deadbeef or Quodlibet the best.
>>
Am I the only one that uses Audacious? I've never seen anyone on /g/ mention it. I like it, it's simple.
>>
>>53920805
What's nice about it besides the fact it can play music?
>>

>my library
what you're referring to as my is actually Apple's library, or as I've taken to calling it, 'the songs Apple allows you to listen to'
