What do you guys think of this? I'm honestly surprised by the amount of effort behind blocking all these communications only to be still uncertain that there isn't a call that was missed. I'm also surprised that you have to recompile the browser to fucking change anything at all with it even to fucking remove the profile management button.
Oh sweet. I fucking hate that button. The rest I couldn't give a rip, but this.
This is good.

There's actually a better patch that keeps the incognito man in incognito mode if you want that. https://github.com/Akujin/chromium-disable-profile-button-patch I guess this can be a chromium patch general.
>>53905313
Now, say I'm a lazy man. How could I set this patch up once so it automagically updates when synaptic decides i need a new version of Chromium?
>>53905354
Well I'm not to sure how apt works as I'm on Gentoo, but I'm pretty sure you have manually compile updates yourself and make debs. You'd need something like portage to automatically update a program and apply a patch.

As usual, gentoo shows itself to be superior to every other distro in every single way.

Yup, it's quite easy to patch an ebuild too, using epatch. I have just submitted a feature request to the gentoo team to add some of those patches.

I see artifacts, see me after class and tell your parents to meet me next week.
The issue with "ungoogling" Chromium has always been a balance between privacy and features.
For example, the omnibar's autocomplete functionality simply cannot work without sending what you type to a web server for analysis, the same reason you can't get autocomplete results on Google's page without them reading what you're typing in.
So to correct this "privacy concern", the only answer is to either send the data through another web service (which only passes the privacy concern onto another party) or remove the feature entirely. And at that point, you're just making a worse version of Chromium.

I just have to say thank you so fucking much for being autistic about optimising anime .pngs.
My internet is really fucking shit and they already take long enough to load in the first place.
>>53906235
I need to accomplish this

Other browsers have autocompletion feature without the botnet because the algorithm is a client-side part of the browser. It doesn't look through google without you telling it to, which is an option in many cases, and otherwise an actual search bar is provided alongside the url bar, as it fucking should be.
>posting basic ass bitches
Y'all niggas ain't shit, cuz.
Also, that's pretty cool OP. What about Windows builds?

Not that it matters, I've gone full GNU+Linux
The fact that this guy could have snuck in a backdoor, just a few lines of code, anywhere in those thousands of class files
its more unsettling than the fact that chromium might send some scant data to google servers
>>53907190
You compile from source.
The patches are only a few lines long.
If you actually read what some of the scripts do, it's very clear he's for the safety of the user.
Also:
