You have a 4 TB HD partitioned off into half NTFS for Windows, the other half is ext4 for a Linux install?
The Windows disk management tool can't read, format, or otherwise do fuck all with the ext4 partition.
Use diskpart.

Can't have MBR's exceeding 2 TB. If it's not a boot disk, then change it to a GPT and use all 4TB.
