Excuse me, but I can't see the big picture here due to all the memes but do people actually unironically swtich to gnu/linux to feel like a special snowflake and do people unironically use KDE,GNOME and Unity?
I switched to linux because I don't like third parties having complete control of my system.
I pretty much have to switch to linux after windows 7 loses support because my comp can't handle the resource requirements 10 needs

10 is lighter than 7
Installing loonix as we speak
just dual boot with windows 10 though

I have a mixed set of reasons for using linux.
Thought my desktop runs Win8.1, my laptop and netbook both run Lubuntu. Windows runs like a dead snail covered in molasses on my eee-pc 1015PEM, and I prefer linux over windows on my T420.
I also feel, as time goes on, I really might just drop windows all together as my desktop OS. Only using a visualized session of windows for the few programs I use that only run or on windows.
There are a bunch more, but meeh, I just like using both windows and linux for various reasons.
Also, I don't really like KDE or Unity, and I stop using GNOME.
most people here are neets who spend their days watching anime, brag about how linux is better and how they know these obscure languages. They like to feel like technology snobs. Meanwhile people are out there making 100k+ a year with windows and java and know more about technology than these neets.
