I've been receiving extremely conflicting advice about how to go about this. I was told that to work my way up, I prepare for the WhatCD interview, get in, become a power user, gain access to their invite forums and then somehow get invites to BTN and PTP. However, after spending an hour preparing and making notes, I find that my entire country (India) is banned from taking the interview.
The WhatCD rules specifically state that I'm not allowed to solicit invites from anyone, and that they're only to be taken if offered (like in invite threads). I don't know anyone personally who's on a private tracker. /r/invites doesn't allow you to ask for WhatCD invites. I'm on another TV tracker (FreshOnTV), and maintained a good ratio, however they don't have any invite forums. I am determined to seed well, and even purchased a seedbox. Should I join another tracker just for the sake of becoming a power user there? Because a lot of people have stated on /r/trackers that a good user is one who actually benefits off of a tracker and uses it because he needs it. Otherwise I just become a collector.
Why is there such conflicting advice? Why are there so many obstacles to cross to become part of this community? I am willing to do my part to maintain the health of the tracker, but it just feels like people are making it extremely hard for me to help.
