The build quality on the T420's is fucking garbage. The only redeeming factor to the T420 was that the keyboard wasnt shit.

Re-adding the trackpoint buttons (which never should have went away) to the T450 doesnt suddenly make it decent.
It doesnt have hinge latches, it has crappy hinges that go through the back making the extended battery a fucking pain in the ass to use.The touchpad doesnt have dedicated buttons, the speakers arent on the top.

Back when the T420 was new, it wasnt hated on here. That was the last generation of the Gold student and partners discount + the DOS equipped machines meaning you could buy a stripped down T420 for close to 400$ new from the factory.
To be honest, I have a T520 and a T400 and the build quality is just about the same.
