From having run both 10 and 8.1 on a low end system, I gotta say 8.1 is still winning on this one. Maybe 10 would fair better on it if it weren't so busy hogging the single CPU core checking for updates, cleaning up after updates, and doing telemetry runs while I'm trying to work.

It starts so slowly it needs a splash screen, something we haven't seen in a browser since about 1998. It's about as laggy as Firefox. Oh, and no extension support whatsoever, and therefore no ad blocking. Irrelevant.

Win32 based applications will be available on the app store now. The implications of this being that pretty much everything can be deployed via app store.
10 objectively uses less resources. Not by much, but in many cases it is more efficient with the resources it is using.
Edge is objectively the fastest browser right now. Extensions are coming to Edge soon.
The Ubuntu support is not intended to be ran with GUI. It is specifically for developers. This is very exciting for developers, but I can see why you wouldn't understand the significance.
