nah impossible, it's not a common/neutral or a security bypass, it's a ground. This shit is only useful if the case is electrified (problem) or noise, the electricity will go in the ground and in yourself.

top post
>>
http://www.lessloss.com/dfpc-series-p-213.html

There is only one correct way to connect a DFPC to an outlet. Every DFPC has small "L" and "N" markings on its IEC connector, which correspond to live and neutral. Sometimes, a wall socket's internal electrical connections are reversed. It is important to ensure that this is not the case. You can test this with a safe and simple $5 receptacle tester from your local electronics store.

Electricians without audiophile experience might scoff at this, claiming that with AC power there cannot possibly be a difference in sound quality either which way around, as long as the circuit is closed. We urge the audiophile to please heed this instruction, as it is crucial to achieving top performance. We purposely incorporate this design aspect into all DFPCs. For best results, heed the L and N rule.

>Oh. My. Goodness! My senses feel assaulted … as would my wallet, if I had had to pay for these. With every smack of the snare and blare of a trumpet my eyes wince in pain. Fast transient edges are transformed into indiscriminate micro-bursts of tizz. Likewise, low notes are powerful, but have lost all definition as they are reduced to a bloated blur. The mid-range seems like it could be pretty good, but I hear it as so disconnected from all else that I could hardly keep track of what’s what in the confused aural picture. I’ve heard worse headphones before, but for $2749 these have got to be the worst price/performance headphones I’ve ever experienced.

>>53848824
are these casemods or is a PS1 supposed to give "superior audio"?
>>
>>53848824
I wanted to make fun of them but I didn't have the collage.
>>
>>53848872
Early PS1s came with an (at the time) very high quality DAC.
There's better options out there nowadays, but the things are still very sought after.
>>
>>53848852
>Aren't phase changes not audible
To the untrained ear they aren't but to the discerning audiophile, a phase-delayed signal sounds noticably muddier than a phase-corrected signal.
>>
>>53848872
The first PS1 systems had a DAC chip that audiophiles considered superior to what was in most cd players at the time. The case mods are just so they don't have to look at a "video game console" in their shrine to conspicuous consumption.
>>
>>53848872
Idiotphiles loves PS1 SCPH-1001 and SCPH-1002 because the DAC and the laser was apparently overkill

Now that i did just bit of research i'm pretty sure it's due to the higher resistance of quarts over rubber(1.00×10^13 vs 7.5x10^17)Ω*m, but I really wonder why people with seemingly no knowledge over how resistance and signal works are buying and selling cables that are tens of thousands of dollars per meter.

When your results are statistically different than chance.
8 trials implies a standard error of sqrt(0.25/8)
= 0.17677
Which means you are not 3 sigma away from what could happen by pure chance, thus you need more trials
>>
>>53855034
err sorry for 10 trials standard error is sqrt(0.25/10) = 0.158113883
so you're still not significantly different than trance

http://www.head-fi.org/t/286475/virtual-dynamics-power-3-an-initial-honest-review

>The Power 3 didn't sound as good as my Cobalt for the first few minutes, but that was short lived. After just a few minutes of break-in and mental burn-in it surpassed it. But in a different way. The Power 3 has incredible soundstage, dynamics, imaging, and musicality.

IT'S A POWER CORD IT DOESN'T "BREAK IN"

>This is an extremely euphonic cable. It has a very warm tone to it so if you're using tubes, I'm not sure it would synergize to well with them. The Power 3 paired with a solid state amp makes it sound like you are listening to tubes, but tubes that reproduce the entire sonic spectrum well.

>I really need to give it at least a week of burn-in before I can give a solid opinion of it. Virtual Dynamics recommends 200 - 400 hours of burn-in on the Power 3, and just by the size of this cord I believe it. >> Fast forward to now: After about 15 hours of burn-in, its warmth has lessened significantly. That euphonic tube sound along with a warm, organic, and opiated glow-type tone have almost stabilized. Adding the Cobalt Ultimate Power cord (which has a neutral-to-cold sound compared to the Power 3) to my computer has neutralized the audio. The Power 3 is extremely organic, and that is one quality that stays with the Power 3 after burn-in.

WHAT THE FUCK UNIVERSE IS THIS NOW
WE HAVE GONE BEYOND BERENSTEIN, BEYOND BERENSTAIN, NOW WE'RE IN THE FUCKING PEPESTOIN BEARS UNIVERSE

>My Cobalt Cable Ultimate Power places the vocals a little closer to you, has a bit more detail in the highs, and quicker transients, but it has also been burned in for about a month now. The Power 3 has a much wider soundstange, better imaging, improved depth, fuller tone, better dynamics, and places the center image further back which I find to be more relaxed.

I've heard Zip disks (only the 100MB variety, only the purple color) are the preferred medium.

The Zip drive should be external and connected by Parallel (SCSI is also fine, definitely no USB)
If you can only use an internal drive, it must be SCSI, IDE is the worst offender.

No 'zip compatible' drives, original iomega drives only.
SCSI internal drives in G3/G4 macs should be discarded and replaced with a PC SCSI unit
