It's just a illustrative picture, newfriend.

That being said, there's a handful of distros that can be fully installed in a 4 gb usb stick

I use the drivedroid android app to install Linux distros now. More convient to use compared to USB drives.

nah senpai that's not what I wanted. I wanted to have a bunch of em on one drive. like I wanted to use it to install Debian on my laptop, Windows on my friend's box, boot memtest86 to overclock my desktop, then go to the coffee shop and use Tails from public wifi, all from one stick.

and it almost worked, but didn't.
>>
>>53835203
I do though, my home server runs off of an USB drive.

Because it always has issues when you try using it on another computer than the one where you initially installed it on. If it worked flawlessly itd be a good idea but if fucking doesnt.
>>
Why is everything having difficulties installing the drive? When I made my Mint install drive it also worked as a to-go OS, with the option to install.

Its not that I have problems installing it on the stick, its that it only works properly one the machine I initially installed it on. Rendering its supposed portability advantage useless.

Why not install it on the main hard drive then?

That's why OP was asking why people aren't using Linux on a flash drive.

Windows belong to trash
