Is this a good phone? I've been using iPhone since I was a baby but I want to switch it up and get something new. I also want a free television.

I have an S6 and it's amazing. I would guess that the S7 is better.
I have it and it is awesome. MST technology is ridiculous, you can pay without requiring an NFC card scanner, so Samsung Pay works literally anywhere you scan a card (insert and remove is the exception, like ATMs and gas pumps).
Not sure about the headphone jack location though, it's on the bottom next to the charge port.
It has a terrible speaker. Other than that pretty great. I'd recommend the Edge over the normal s7 though.

Truth. The speaker is on the bottom, so if you sit the phone on your leg/lap etc it's muffled. Retarded for sure. At least my Turbo has front speakers.

Anyone claim their free Gear VR or whatever? I got an S7 as a work phone and dont have a receipt, but meet all other qualifications.
You will be amazed by the lower quality of android apps if you switch. That's what happened to me, going back to iOS as soon as possible.

iPhone has huge market share (nearly half) in the US, where most if not all important apps are developed. Also, devs will usually use iphones themselves because silicon valley "coders" are pussies

This phone is amazing 5/7
I love my S7E. I continuously get 30 hours per charge with 8-10hr SoT. Even with VR gaming.
However, Canada friend here so Exynos variant which I hear gets betters battery life than the snapdragon.
iPads have really shit cameras but pic related, let it die and now charging to full off my battery pack.

There are few things you have to know about galaxy s7
- Samsung has all the important patents and fab capacity for AMOLED screens, so S7 has the best amoled on the market
- USA version uses snapdragon 820, and EU/Canadian uses exynos 8890, the exynos version is more responsive and has better battery life (used to be the other way around on previous models)
- don't get your hopes up on custom roms
- touchwiz on s7 is supposedly better and has better RAM management compared to previous phones
- uses shitty UFS-2 instead of based NVMe

All US variants have locked bootloaders, with dm-verity and Qualcomm Secure Boot enabled. There's still no root, either.
I just signed a contract with my local europoor carrier. Roughly 33 €/month for 3 GB, 1000 texts (so basically unlimited) and 200 min of calls (which for me is still more than enough).
How bad did I fuck it up /g/? I didn't want to pay 700 € upfront and didn't plan to root/fuck with roms cause I knew was gonna be virtually impossible.
I come from 2013 Moto G. I'm so used to stock Android that TouchWiz seams indeed bloat.
Battery life seems great. First major drawback is that it's so slippery.

Probably a solid phone.
I went from a galaxy S to an S6. The 7 is likely better.
S6 is good, but the lack kf utility annoys me.
No interchangeable battery, no micro SD port.
I'll probably upgrade from the s6x since utility is what made my S1 last about 6 years.
