It's literally impossible for a processor to overheat and kill itself.

The fan bug DID exist, it happened yes, but only to the few people who for what reason had activated AMD Overdrive WHILE using a third party overclock/fan controller program.

Entirely the fault of the user. I myself updated to Crimson the moment it was released. My 290X never had so much as a hiccup, because I am not retarded.

Why not just rid yourself of the faggotry that is the GeFARCE experience upon getting a new GPU or driver??

JFC. I'm about to replace my 8-year-old laptop with a newer one, boiling down to using NVIDIA based on the benchmarking and ways you can alternate the output -- much more responsive than AMD's previous Shittalyst Shilltroll Center.

Current 3 Newegg options:

Not settled on the ASUS just yet, strongly considering the GIG, despite lower-end RAM and GPU. Not intending on running The Division on some fucking 60fps+ BTFO proportion settings. Any other considerations? Haven't checked out Tigerdirect completely, set price limit on purchasing a gametop on sale is ~$1000. Will benchmark whichever with Unigine Valley to see if it lives up to its cover page.

It's unbelievable. This is the third time in a year where geforce forum users claim new drivers are killing cards. There should have the option to let users verify nvidia gpu ownership to prevent amdshills making fake claims there.

But then Nvidiashills like yourself couldn't just accuse everyone who has had their GPU fucked up by Nvidia's driver team of making false claims.
>>
>>53828656
They're probably ex-AMDPOORFAGs who converted to nVidia because of 'muh drivers' meme. Then when they joined they get cuck'd by nVidia's card-killing drivers.

Long-time nVidia owners know best to let others be the beta testers. Or take special precautions.
>>
>>53825283
what do you think the cost of the 1080 or whatever will cost? should I get akimbo 980ti's and be done with it?

The problem with crimson bug was only when you overclocked with the MSI afterburner. Either way the warranty is void once you OC, so it isn't quiet the same.
>>
>>53828735

>Long-time nVidia owners know best to let others be the beta testers.

Even WHQL drivers (not that WHQL means anything despite what Nvidia fanboys think) from Nvidia have killed cards in the past. It is literally pot luck when Nvidia releases a driver whether its going to explode your gpu, your OS or (in one amusing case) your monitor.

Well yeah. The link from the OP gives us links and screenshots to and of the Nvidia forums where users are describing the new drivers bricking the cards, whereas the other link only tells us the new drivers _may_ brick the cards.

Furthermore, it has been found out that this only happens if you OC the cards using third party software.

>>
>>53830114

If you actually go to the links provided you would notice the Reddit AMD thread is just someone claiming cards are getting bricked but providing no proof, then some people stating their OS and GPU and updated without issues, then some people complaining about artifacts and then asked if they have overclock saying Yes they do and told to lower it and them some people claiming their old as fuck cards have just now died.

If you go the Geforce thread you would have noticed less than half of the thread is actual people with problems with the Nvidia rep asking for their computer and os and if they can replicate the issue with the link to that nvidia form to fill out bug reports then more than half of the discussion is AMD shills trolling and posting should have bought AMD posting images of the new AMD crimson panel and old firehouse jokes.

Figuratively, you retard.
Every month there is a GPU killing driver, or a game ruined by shitworks, or older cards being gimped in new games, or a high-end card being released with defective VRAM (970), or a mainstream card being crippled by a retarded 128-bit bus (960), or not having async compute support (which happens every month).
Yet Nvidia is able to get away with their stream of colossal fuck-ups due to some entirely undeserved public perception that it is somehow good, even though it has the worst product on most price points.

We would all benefit if Nvidia could just die and some other company, maybe Intel or Qualcomm, take their place.
