Install your graphics drivers faggot. Same shit happens on windows.
>>
>>53817573
already did, AMD just doesnt have drivers for their newest series apparently. I do get this issue to a smaller degree on windows.
>>
>AMD
how often do you shake your window around like an autist that this even matters?
>>
>>53817615
much more often now that I know this happens. Hell, I don't even run xfce often, I usually just use i3. It just annoys me that AMD cannot support their newest cards.

When you say Linux compositing, you mean Compiz.

sudo apt-get compton

Pro tip, turn on Vertical Sync and you won't have that problem on any graphics driver.

Because freedesktop.retards thought it would be a good idea to add compositing to X

The good news is that you don't need and shouldn't want compositing anyways

Instant and constant window redraws are such a waste of resources. Just put an outline in place and use the time saved to stop making the whole OS/DE a bloated piece of shit.

Then once that's worked out you can start on the aesthetics.
>>
The only thing that makes things bearable is compton on AMD cards. And sometimes things like Chromium will just tear apart anyways.

I could never switch to linux because there's not a single DE that has been perfected to the point it works the same way as modern Windows or OSX do.

Which is by not lagging with animations on decent hardware or deciding that if you have a 60hz monitor you're a loser.

Anyone here uses Compton?
What settings could give me a beautiful compositing with it?

>>53826712
I just use the default config. It still looks nice.
>>
>>53819846
Those who would give up the functionality of X for aesthetics deserve neither.

>hurr but some wayland compositor has RDP in alpha
I can't wait for the exciting future where you need this compositor or that compositor for basic shit you used to get with every WM!

Wayland is gonowhereware because it's modeled after things used in centralized proprietary environments where there is only one "compositor", and deal with buggy, resource hogging Xwayland overhead any time you want to use a program that's not useless fucking gnome crap.

It's not going to work for linux. Just forget about compositing and forget about window redraws while resizing and enjoy your UI from 1990.

It's called X11 forwarding.
It has been one of the key features of X11
since it first was released.
