How do you find the Fidelio X2 in comparison to the HD600's?

Also I don't know what warm/cold/v/memes are so just explain it like you would to a person not an audiophile.

I dont consider myself an audiophile. more like enthusiast.

the X2 is less accurate than the HD600 but more "fun". both are open back, so they will never have as much bass as a closed back HP. The X2 has a remarkable amount of bass for an open back HP while not overpowering the mids and highs. also big soundstage because open back. the HD600 is more neutral sounding. comes down to personal prefernce I guess. I personally use the X2 more often than the HD600.

What does fun mean in the context, neutral I understand as just being true to the source? Is there a particular you'd recommend for a mix of gaming/movies/music (mainly orchestral/acoustic/pop/tech) in that order?

As I said, ist is not 100% accurate. But still very accurate compared to other HPs in that price range. And to me the "fun" is sometimes taken away when a HP sounds too boring and falls flat in terms of bass. The bass is not artificially enhanced tho.

Monoprice 8320.

Love them. This is what I'm using for the past few days along with my HD600 most of the time. I'm just playing with its EQ. Every review hates 8320s because of the treble and because of the kinky cable.

All fixed. I used EQ to fix the treble and bass. I also fixed the kinks of the cable by doing the boiling water in a cup trick by lightly pinching the cable and placing it there for a few seconds..

I still haven't nailed the EQ for the Monoprice 8320s yet. I think I'm pretty much there. inb4 it's not comfy or you just hate it.

I also have a QPad QH-85, which is basically a Takstar Hi2050 with a detachable mic.
Gave it a removable cable because the original one got fucked, but this fucked up the microphone volume so I don't really have any use for it other than "backup pair".

>neutral for: gaming, movies, voices in general
>X2 "fun" is good for: edm, rap, electronic music in general, top 40 stuff.
My preferences seem to be the other way round, I like having a decent amount of bass for certain sound effects and explosions in games and movies while having good sound stage.

I only got X2s recently, its my first headphone in the 200~300 price range. Was on porta pros before that.

They have a pleasant punch to them but I feel the treble is lacking. Cymbals don't seem to sound detailed, might be the way some of the tracks are mastered I don't know.

I think I might prefer a cooler sounding signature for music with emphasis on vocals, especially female lead. The vocals sound a bit distant, the background seems more prominent.

But for certain soundtracks I listen to like some of the maple story BGM tracks it sounds very pleasing and soothing. Need to find some more tracks of that sort.

I'll need to go and explore more genres at some point my small collection is becoming too repetitive.

I have a feeling that I might have enjoyed the K7xx FR more as an all rounder.
