If someone DDOS'd your site, would it be the will of Stein's Gate? What is our current world line? Do you provide sites for other world lines? How does that work?
>>
>>53812226
Ubuntu is better for hosting public-facing services on recent or cutting edge technologies. OpenBSD is better for hosting stable and secure services.
Better for what though? Depends on what service you're hosting.

If you were considering Arch, why not just go LFS or Slackware? You obviously don't have a need for stability or security in your service delivery model, but these would give you even more control and a leaner system too.
>>
>>53812333
Inevitably everything is the will of Steins;Gate. Though that would not stop the organization from running a muck with our precious creation. The attractor field is delta. Making dozens of virtual machines for the purpose of emulating several worldlines over sounds like a fantastic idea, labo memba.

They're cheap to replace individually, when you have a computing cluster of any sort (server, rendering farm, whatever) you want to be able to swap out components readily as they fail and runing a Web server is not the most CPU-intensive task in the world

I found a local (not English) hosting provider that offer packages that function like a webhost with directadmin, but gives you dedicated resources like a vps. So I host my website there. It saves time.

>Do you run a website?

Yep.

>Do you host your own server?

Nope.

I use Dreamhost. You can host a bunch of individual sites from a single Dreamhost account. I don't know if there's a limit to how many.

It's fast enough, but certainly not super snappy. I count around three seconds for my Wordpress blog to fully load and render. Chrome devtools claims something like 1.2 seconds.

It's fine. Servers are pretty much exclusive to
-having a personal website
-self managed offsite backup
-work / making money hosting
-programming for amusement

if you don't do those then there's no reason to have a server

>>53812084
People don't host websites on Mac Mini clusters. That would be retarded. What they do is test their Mac applications over hundreds or thousands of virtual machines for automated bug finding. By Apple's licensing, Macs are allowed to host 2 OS X virtual machines per one Mac which is completely fucking ridiculous. To some businesses, it's worth it. You can find pictures of people using Macbook Pro clusters too.
