Linux has a core that won't die. These are people that will stay with Linux no matter
a) how good Windows gets, because it still won't be free, and even if it was it doesn't offer the modularity Linux does
b) how bad Linux gets. Because if there's the history of FOSS taught us is that when a Libre program becomes shit, some group will fork it and make a community version. Right now I can think of mpv, cinnamon and Palemoon (which is Windows only though)

Adding to this, because I'm a moron who forgot to type it, this is the core that matters to Linux. No one cares about the guy who used Ubuntu for a year mostly searching for answers on how to install stuff on apt-get. He won't contribute, he's not an important component of the community. It's nice that he's around, but he only contributes as a statistic. The core, which are the people who actually contribute to FOSS projects, will stay no matter what.
By its own nature, GNU/Linux cannot die.

My experience was more of like:
1. Install windows 10 enterprise.
2. Run a ps script made by a 4chan user to auto disable everything via group policies.
3. No problems since then, that was around windows 10 release.
I actually went recently trough the official enterprise guide book by Microsoft which teach companies how to cut down communication of the OS with Microsoft - and the 4chan guy done a great job with the Powershell script with exceptions of a firewall block rule and 2 - 3 other settings via group policy and a registry tweak.
What I also recently added was an updated list of hosts - which if you want to fee extra safe you can add to a third party firewall / router in just a second. ( see in picture how easy it is to permanently block them )

I don't care what shitty experience plebs ever had with Linux that made them go back to Windows, I have my reasons to run it and I'm very comfortable with it, that's all that matters.
I learned that it's a pointless task to try convince others to use the OS that I consider to be better in many ways, if they want or need to cuck themselves by using Windows, that's none of my business.
It saddens me a little though, I really wish Microsoft's monopoly would die out in the not so near future, but each day this seems more difficult, nearly impossible, as long as people keep chosing Microsoft products, I guess we are doomed after all.
