Learn how to do the following in pure MySQL with the cli client:
Create a table
Add data to the table
Read the data from the table
Modify an existing record
Delete a record
This is commonly called CRUD, or create, read, update, and delete.
More advanced: learn to do joins, create foreign keys, lookup tables, etc.
Learn MSSQL because it is superior.

edX started another course on T-SQL today if you want to take a beginners one.
They span it out to be a 4 or 5 week course but that's at like 4-5 hours each week.
