the problem they have is, the most likely language for it to replace is java. but companies are slow to adapt and it's still not clear which advantages exactly they'd have by using go instead of java. the biggest downside of java is oracle, but then they'd end up trading oracle for google in the long run, so it seems to me like another language will end up replacing java instead.

When everyones been writing c/c++ for decades why would they want to move decades worth of codebase to a new language? Does golang actually bring anything new to the table? Most of the people I know who've tried it hated it. The only guy who liked it was working on a distributed parallel programming project. Whats with all these meme languages popping up everywhere?
