Calling all i5 2500k /g/ro's
My mobo shit itself last night and was wondering where I could get my hands on a good new replacement that oc's
>Inb4 upgrade
I'd rather keep the i5 since I got a good one and kept it @ 5.0 oc for years
Also i5 2500k appreciation thread
Why are you shilling a borderline ancient CPU like it's the best thing since sliced bread?
Yeah, it was pretty good when it came out. A nice budget CPU. It isn't lightning in a bottle.

>shilling
Learn your buzzwords, I didn't shill anything.
Also the difference between Sandy and memelake isnt worth the upgrade cost
Still have a 2500k myself, but I'm giving in and getting a 6700k after the price gouging stops. Sorry m8
I'm gonna be serious with you its rare now old mobos that oc and are expensive as shit will cost you a new i5 and mobo just for an old oc able mobo
>>53751683
For you.
>>53751557
Might as well get an i7 2600K since it doesn't cost much more.
>>53751683
>23% performance increase on IPC isn't worth the price.
from sandy it is actually worth it.
>>53751870
his cpu is fine its the mobo that died.
>>53751557
Any Z77 board from ASUS, ASROCK or MSI should be good.
>>53751557
you could always go team red i guess
>>53751893
23% isn't that much, especially if his 2500k can do 5ghz.
>>53751893
>23% is considered a big performance increase now
>after 5 years
I want to go back to 1990-2010 performance jumps
i7 2600k master race
2500k killed amd and is the main reason behind stagnation in cpu development. It was way too powerful for its own good.
That said my 2500k is 5 yo and will last for the next spring. I suspect if amd gives Intel run for its money with Zen, we might see a big jump in performance next year.
>>53755457
This is what I'm hoping for, or Zen is actually really good and I'll upgrade to that
what happened to your mobo?
>>53754341
i7 2700k beyond master race
