Why are winbabbies so insecure about jobs? Last night there was one win cuck who was pretending to """"come back from the job"""" and shilling wangblows 10. When he got busted he quickly changed the topic to ""Hurr durr open source software is shit"".
I think It's pathetic that they feel the necessity to state that they have a job, it's almost like getting any job is their prime goal besides shitposting on /g/ all day.
Further more it is quite obvious most winbabbies are computer illiterate. /v/ spills come here for tech help (partpicker threads) and stay back. I'd be surprised to see dumb gamers getting an actual /g/ related job. """"Data entry on excel"""" doesn't count

Took an old computer I had in the basement for some maintenance, HDD got fucked so I replaced it and now it's running Ubuntu 14. Never used Linux before, but I more or less have it set up to do similar tasks to my main computer. It's pretty neat, need to get more acquainted with using terminal commands though. Any tips?

>>53724956
Packages are new
Minimal bloat unlike Mint
Easy to install codecs and other proprietary programs, unlike Debian
Mostly works out of the box
Cinnamon doesn't crash all the time like KDE
Cinnamon wasn't made for tables like Gnome

But you should considering sticking with gnome, I think they already implemented if not update to gnome 3.20 it's an amazing DE.
xubuntu 16.04 beta 2
Arch. I find it the easiest to use, desu. When you get past the install at least. Whenever I try fedora or ubuntu I try to get some kind of software that isn't in the repos, and then have to go and add ppas and other stupid shit to get it. Arch has basically everything if you count the AUR. I also feel like building up the system yourself makes it much easier to fix things.

Gnome is fantastic on laptops and convertibles like the surface pro. I wouldn't quite say so on desktops though.

Looks like every other Linux distro
Because you can install any desktop environment on any linux distro
What sets Debian apart is the stability, not how it looks.

But honestly they're all kind of the same depending on what DE you have installed.

You can get flavors of Ubuntu pre-installed with MATE, Cinnamon, GNOME, etc. You can also install any DE after you install Ubuntu. Something to think about if you still wanna give Ubuntu a try but didn't wanna because Unity.

Debian master race of course. Any other distro just disappoints now. Especially fedora lol anyone using yum should try a different package manager for 2 minutes, then kill themselves.
