Before everyone starts calling vb out for being shit, it's called visual basic for a reason. It's the best way to start programming as it's shit easy to learn. I started with vb and I'm very happy to have started with it. It trains your brain to use logic while programming. After you've learned vb it's easy to transition to c/c++/c#, and when that transition has taken place, you're on your way to becoming a good programmer. Vb is made to teach high-schoolers and beginners to the basics of programming.
