My connection keeps dying every 10 minutes or so sometimes can last up to 1 hour and die and I have to reset the router every fucking time for the internet to comeback, I'm getting a good connection full speed when it works, no lag and good ping.

Could it be the router is just dying or what else could be.

TP-Link WR740N.
It was working perfectly until like one week ago when it started doing this.

I don't understand people who do this.
If you really like to play datacenter at home why not buy a mini rack?

- Also cabling is a mess
- Tag your cables
- Use shorter cables or learn to cut your own
- stick to color coding or just use white ones and label them
- zip ties are meant to be cut

but for me personally why would you bother doing this? the devices are too ugly of different shapes and sizes and i wouldn't bother. it just looks ugly no matter what and not impressive to people who actually do networking

nice, what's your setup?

Why not just do everything over wireless?

No pic, sorry, but...

SB6141 --> APU1D4 (Untangle) --> HP J9833A --2x bonded gig-e--> HP J9022A --2x bonded gig-e--> HP J9833A

The HP J9022A is essentially the agg switch. 48 port gig-e. The HP J9833A's are 8 port, and I'm running a bonded pair of gig-e to each of them. I have one on each floor.

I'll be re-arranging things so that the J9022A takes all the traffic, leaving the J9833A's as secondary's.

Wireless is an EAP1750H. It works alright. The firmware updates help. A lot.

All the servers are attached to the J9022A, except one of the Plex servers.

Are you on ADSL or cable? If ADSL most routers will tell you what the last error was when you get the connection back up. If it's something generic like connection or link lost, it could be a line fault. Contact your ISP for assistance.

I help support 125 remote office sites and this is a common issue, and it's always a line fault with the ISP.

I am getting internet through adsl,so buying modem is compulsory. Wifi devices will also be used so I am thinking adsl wifi modem.

Now my desktop doesn't have wifi or Bluetooth card and I would like to set up these capabilities in it.So what should I use,
A pcie/usb wifi card or adsl router in client mode?

This is only to be used ocassionaly, also i will set up internet on desktop through lan wire not wifi.
>>
>post your setup fikds

cat5 cable from my NIC to a wall plug.

The plug goes through a couple switches in the University's network up to the main router, then it leaves on a 1 gigabit fiber to another backbone router.

So I got these things.

What should I do with them?

Dude on eBay gave me some info on them, said they were hospitality for hotel or something.

Got into them with odd ip but can't manage to get back in now.

They seem well built.

3 JC700 Wifi APs.
.. 1 in office, 1 in loungeroom, 1 in bedroom.
Office JC700 connected my PC and all my Raspberry Pis im working on.
loungeroom is for tv and consoles
bedroom is for raspberry pi and tv.

all phones connect to all wireless networks obviously.

tplink 9980 vdsl modem router for internet and 2.4 and 5ghz wifi. all the jc700 connect to that and act as AP's.

And theres a CISCO SIP end point next to the modem for our DECT phone.

>1 POE LAN
>2 WAN connections
>old enough not to be managed purely from a web interface

what is the purpose of this?
>>
>>53693796
They were cheap and looked well built. Certainly better built than any plastic crap at best buy.
>>
>>53693796
>old enough not to be managed purely from a web interface
I'd hope not. Managing via web for enterprise devices sucks.
>>
>>53693514
Plex, lots of Windows Enterprise stuff (Exchange, SharePoint, SCCM, AD, etc)

I'm not the only one that uses it though. have an average load of 13 users, with a spike up to 27. Exchange and AD are also production, so there's that as well.
