hey /g/
why is using TPB considered a bad thing? I've been using it since '07 with no problems - I can't recall a time that it's let me down even once.
Its fine if you have no standards for the quality of the content you expect to receive.
There are better options but I like my sister.

What specifically, in terms of quality? Like said, I've never had an issue with it before whether it be films, games, software, music, etc. Granted, my searches are usually pretty well seeded, so maybe I'm just not niche enough to have to worry about that...

There is no quality control, and many of the things downloaded (I only download music so idk about anything else) are in low-quality mp3 format at like 192kb/s even if they're listed as 320kb/s. Plus there are some trolls that do things with music like speed up one channel in a song so by the end of a 5 minute song, the left and right speakers are more than a second out of sync. If you're gonna use a public tracker, at least go with rutracker, because a lot of the material is sourced from what.cd and the movie/TV/porn equivalents

huh, interesting. I'll try rutracker next time i torrent something. thanks.

Also I find the way torrents are listed and curated on websites such as What, PTP and BTN are far better then then on TPB.
Also if I want to know information like an artists discography, or films an actor or director has been involved in, these websites intergrate it really well. It is a much more pleasant experience to browse these websites and find what you want compared to a lot of other sites I've tried.
