Why does MS keep rolling that update out over and over?
I've hidden it like 10 times and uninstalled it at least 3 times.

It installs Windows 10.

Also, what's gonna happen when Microsoft stops offering the free upgrade, anyway? Surely it won't upgrade it and then demand that you pay $120 for a license, right?
>>
>>53682892

That's the update the puts the "get windows 10" icon on your taskbar.
It's a prerequisite to the upgrade that downloads the OS to your computer, and if you leave it alone for too long will automatically install the OS on some versions.

Imagine coming home and finding a different OS on your computer.

If you know how to use a computer and how to read basic instructions off a webpage, you wouldn't be seeing that update in the first place.

If you don't know how to block it, or don't know what it is, then you and 99% of consumertards like you need security and system updates forced on you because you can't be trusted to take care of your own system.

Why leave updates on anyway? Why update anything? You don't need regular updates.

If you don't act like a retard and blindly download and install software from questionable sites then there is no reason for you to ever worry about viruses or malware. You don't need anti-virus software.

There is nothing really safe that you get from Windows updates. You just get extra shit that you may or may not want.

I have Windows 8 and whenever I reformat, once Windows is installed I turn off the updates indefinitely.
