Signal even has a desktop client it's still in beta but it's works very well.

It gives you a public key that you trade with another person. There is an option to reset that key an reinitiate the key exchange creating a new encrypted conversation.

Signal has also combined red phone with signal so you can even make encrypted phone calls. Not trying to be a shill or anything but ya.
My only thing with signal is I wish they would make another way for you to key exchange without using a phone, like making I'M capable. If they were able to do that I mean I could drop using lots of extra shit.
