Grills are technology. Do you prefer gas or charcoal?
I grew up with propane but in the last year started regularly using a cheap charcoal grill and fell in love. Better taste, more fun to set up, more enjoyable experience overall. Thinking about picking up pic related, a Weber One Touch. Is there a better charcoal grill out there for grilling efficiency? How hard is a big green egg to clean?

For me it's not being able to taste the gas, but just the complete lack of flavor other than smoke from rendered fat. You can put down a bed of lava rock in a gas grill to generate more fat smoke once it seasons, but it's just nothing compared to the flavor of charcoal smoke.
Hell, even cooking some fat chicken breasts I can get a good pink smoke ring on the meat. Can't do that with a gas grill unless you supplement hard with wood chips. Too much work to emulate the charcoal taste

Been using the Master Touch GBS for pretty much every weekend for the past two years. Totally worth the investment.
Cleaning is a pain in the ass.
Make sure you get the grill grate made out of stainless steel.(it's worth the extra shekels, I promise)

The stainless steel grate on the Weber Master Touch has hinges to replenish coals.
You can also take out a ring in the middle and replace it with a piece of cast iron.
Unfortunately I never got around trying those since they're very expensive desu senpai
