The upload is literally twice as fast as my old download. However, it's shit now that I'm running a Plex server. Playing shit on the go is painful.

It's really the fault of Telstra more than anything else. There were amazing companies like TransACT that managed to set up VDSL networks many years ago and then fibre at a time when Telstra hadn't even enabled ADSL2.
Nowadays we've got Wondercom installing 100Mbps connections into apartment buildings and then charging $70 a month for it along with unlimited calls.
It has always been my belief that download limits are what make Australian internet so shit. We've got people on the NBN who are being slowed down to 64kbps each month because they exceed their data limit. Until download limits are removed from the NBN or Telstra Wholesale in line with pretty much every other developed nation, Australian internet will always be slow and shitty.
The NBN has its own problems with the 121 points of interconnect and the bandwidth cost for ISPs which were both fucked up by politicians which means the NBN will be shit as well. Unfortunately it seems that good internet in this country at a worthwhile price is simply impossible.
