If you've never grew accustomed to the way Windows or other OSes have their acceleration then it doesn't feel odd at all. Coming from those OSes it does feel weird. They don't anything about it since Apple now wants people to use their TrackPads, which are really good actually, especially with force touch and haptic. But yeah kinda dumb they don't offer a method to change mouse acceleration.
