My school got it, Its actually pretty simple to get rid of. All you have to do is go back to a restore point from when you didn't have the infected file (s)

I've heard these things only encrypt known file types such as jpgs, mp3s, etc. If I already have everything on my comp encrypted will it just not find shit if I somehow get this virus?
My dad got it, I'm nervous I might have caught it as well. Can you get it on OS X? How can I check for it?
