Do you know how to program FPGAs, /g/?

I do for a living

I used to work on Xilinx FPGAs using Verilog. But I'm a software person now.

Yes, but far from an expert...

Pic realted is the most complex I programmed.
For an academic project we needed a way to generate 1GHz data signals, that Virtex 7 board was available, and it was a quick and dirty way to do it.

do you think that industry will ever get phased out? I am studying EE and it's about time that I pick my "specialty courses"

No. Do you know how to perform cunnilingus on a woman and bring her to orgasm?
>>
Yes - I was examined today, and now I'll try my hardest to forgot how to!

not anytime soon

Is that Mia Malkova?
>>
Yes, but I hate it and am terrible at it so I haven't done any worth with one since college.
>>
>>53611000
No. How hard is it to learn if you already know Verilog?
>>
>>53611574
That's basically what FPGA programming is.
>>
I know c
>>
I had a university course where we implemented a CPU from a specification they gave us. It worked pretty well.

>>53611574
All you have to do is get your Verilog code running on actual hardware instead of a simulator, which isn't too hard.
>>
I wanna but shits expensive yo

No, thats a friend of mine. Swedish!

Besides Verilog, there's quite a lot of stuff to learn specific to the technology, the tools you're using and the FPGA you're using. They are less generic than software programming One software program may run most PCs, because one bitstream may not work on most FPGAs until you spend time manually altering it to run on it.

I do know both. What do I win?

What kind of funny shit can you do with fpga?

She has the same smile. She probably gives mad head too.

We did a bit of VHDL programming for Xilinx FPGAs on my CS course. I designed a very simple CPU with it. I'd love to get back into it but shit's expensive.
>>
yes, it is fun

Signal processing and things that require low latency. It's rather niche.

Yeah. I don't like it, though.
It's cool to have total control of low levels stuff like interrupts and all the hardware, but...
I miss muh abstractions.
