This is probably the best advice. You fucked up by not going to college and developing social skills normally. I would recommend working at a video rental store but those don't exist anymore. Gamestop probably has 3-4 more years before they go under. I'd suggest checking them out.

-Programmer
-Network admin
-DB guy
-Web developer
-Mobile developer (which is somewhat more niche than a general programmer)

if you don't know how something works, but it sounds like there'd be courses in it, you can usually access university course syllabi for free.
it's a good way to pace your own studies, and to find out what software, books, and other resources are getting used in the field.
some universities have also made their course materials available online for free. they're pretty major under-utilized resources.

Read Net+ and Sec+ on your own, take the tests at a local testing center, apply for helpdesk and entry level analyst positions

In addition to this: For programming, pretty much ANY language in the top ~50 most used languages will have hundreds (in some cases thousands) on online tutorials. You do not need a degree to pick up programming, just dedication and a willingness to learn.

You need makes you factor the costs of tutition, book, room, etc.
College is not a guaranteed ticket to a high paying without experience, connections, good resume, and a healthy industry/region.
