I mean, it does his job but Jesus fucking Christ it takes 250mb RAM.
>>
>it takes 250mb RAM
How? for me it only uses like ~20MB, even if it used 250 you just do a scan and then close it, no big deal.

Why do you need real-time protection? Just update it and run a scan every now and then, or if you think you caught something. The things this can pick up aren't going to nuke your system in ten seconds anyway.
>>
>>53586761
Good point, actually web protection is useful but the real time - yea once / week scan is more than enough - just wasting resources with it otherwise.

+ I usually get multiple cracks when I want to crack something and I put them trough virus total - it's more reliable as I can then inspect if it's false alarm or something really shady in - there.

It has heuristic detection as well

Web protection in malwarebytes is the most useless crap ever. Blocking websites by domain is ridiculous and does not prevent any damage

>Blocking websites by domain is ridiculous and does not prevent any damage
That's a rather ridiculous claim. Have you actually tried blocking domain names in the real world?
My workplace would've had at least 8 cryptolocker attacks had it not been for a subscription to a security firms DNS servers.

Malwarebytes' domain blocking might be useless, I don't know, but effective domain name blocking will protect you more than any antimalware software will.

>Anti-malware
People who need it have no idea what it is or how it differs from an antivirus. People that are technically competent know how to dodge shady shit on the web.

The whole functionality should be integrated into the antivirus suite, but marketing at such companies won't allow end users to pass up an opportunity for an up-sell.

The real time and web protections actually work so not really a meme it just gets much more credit than what it is worth
