Other than light steam games, those are all I'm currently playing. I don't mind low settings as long as it isn't stuttery.

Nah, sorry. I'm pretty poor. It can't run ffxiii very well and sonic generations is kinda shitty. Unless those games have good ports you may have a bad time. BUT my friend has a 290 and he got it to run GTA v pretty well so if you got that combo I'm pretty sure you'll see better results

Nah cause original plan was to use the a8 with igpu now, then add a budget gpu later to take advantage of multigpu.
Possibly a used 7870 or 7950.

Nah it's dx12/vulkan.
Even works with Intel GPU, but those aren't as powerful as an apu.
It's $113 for an a8 7600 here, or $175 for an i3 4170. Considering how close they get in multicore performance I'm amazed at the price difference.
Can even mix Intel, AMD, and Nvidia.
For some reason it works a little better if the AMD is the primary GPU.

Dx12 multigpu doesn't work really well if the power of the gpus aren't matched, similar sli/crossfire.

If you are going to add a r7 250 it can work in dual graphics/crossfire mode in dx11 and mutigpu in dx12. If you are going to add a r9 270 just use the more powerful card only.
