The V10 is a hair smaller than the Nexus 6. I use my 6P 1-handed but there are plenty of manlets in the world
My Nexus 6p is too big for me and I have regular sized hands. My old 5 inch screen was easier to use
5" screen is perfect. Big enough to play games and watch videos on, compact enough to use comfortably with one hand and fit in your jeans pocket.

The Nexus 5 is the ideal size for a smartphone screen. Anything else, a tablet or a touchscreen laptop would be more useful than a phablet would ever be.

I have a small phone and a tablet. I'm planning to switch to a phablet to carry one shit instead of two shits.
Pretty sure 5.5" is the natural limit for comfortable one handed use. At least for me, reaching the upper left corner of the phone on 6"+ screens gets kinda straining, especially if you have to do it often.
Honestly I don't care, I use my Laptop and Ipod for most of my multimedia/work/college needs.
My phone is realisticly just there for social media and Calling/Texting.
So I couldn't care less if they were bigger or smaller, pic related my current phone (Galaxy Core Prime)

I use a V10 and there is a feature where you can shrink the whole screen down for typing with one hand if you want. I don't use it because I like 2 hand typing, but you might want to try it.

Writing a report is more comfortable on a laptop desktop.
Viewing a movie is more comfortable on a TV.
Responding to an email or text or IM or taking a picture can be done from a 3" phone.
4-4.5" seems to be the ideal size.
I really don't see why you would put so much effort in making the phone slimmer and still increase the size of the screen.
