Is this the best example of the failings of the open source ideology?
>>53538922
>one (useful) feature that some sjw shit company that refuses to listen to its users refuses to implement
>entire "open source ideology" somehow fails due to this
Still better than Windows 10 op.
>>53538922
>>entire "open source ideology" somehow fails due to this
That's not what I said at all. Everything has successes and failings. Consider an education.
>>53539011
That's what your weak troll post implies.
I likely have more of an education than you also because I at least I can make what I say clear without ambiguity.
You're a weak-ass nigger that got your shitty reply. Now fuck off and contemplate why if everything has "successes and failings" you wouldn't have posted your pus-filled garbage question.
Oh, and you might want to reply to the correct post next time.
>>53538922
Yes it is.
>>53538922
linux as a whole is the proof of open poop
>no drivers
>no gaymes
>no professional software
>bugs everywhere
>projects taken over by sjw and features removed by the dozen
>>53539255

I can feel last night's curry coming up

>>53539342
You're the only shitposter here mate
>>53538922
No the best example is the amount of functioning simple painting software in the GTK domain:
GNU Paint -> doesn't have undo among other basic things
GNOME Paint -> crashes, unfinished as well
mtPaint -> unmaintained, not gtk3
GIMP -> no painting software
Pinta -> slow and buggy, which is a major attribute of gtk#
MyPaint -> good, but designed for tablet only
>>53539562
>doesnt mention Krita
Nothing bad to say about it or did you forget the PS clone?
>>53539607
Nothing bad to say, but more important it isn't based on GTK.
>>53539607
>>53539618
Oh, well, now that you mention it, it could be better regarding scripting automation. But that's a minor issue, given it is targeted on tablet users.
>>53539618
Well you got me there.
>>53538992
The policy seems fair. Probably exactly what you will find in other policies.
>>53538922
It symbolizes it well, but for the "best" examples you should head into systemd's bugzilla.
>>53539562
>not gtk3
Gtk3 is shit
>Pinta
This one is actually good
>>53539274
>>no drivers
wrong, for what?
>>no gaymes
wrong, there are many over Steam and Vulkan is coming
>>no professional software
in what category? Maybe CAD, but there is Lightworks, Nuke, Natron etc. Many things can be run in Wine too.
>>bugs everywhere
Debian Stable?
>>projects taken over by sjw and features removed by the dozen
wat
>using Guhnome or other GTK related DE
Stop being a pleb and switch over KDE.
>>53540437
Kde has never worked for me, last time I used it the kernel crahsed
>>53540860
Works fine on my machine and I'm currently using OpenSUSE.
>>53540078
>Many things can be run in Wine too.
not the person you were talking to, but this is never a good argument.
Let's add more features! I don't care if you need 100Ghz CPU, I just want more features! Every program I use must have text editor, file manager, music player and HTTP server!
>>53539959
>>not gtk3
>Gtk3 is shit
I know, but gtk2 is still worse for a number of reasons.
>>Pinta
>This one is actually good
No, it's not.
>>53542115
>>I know, but gtk2 is still worse for a number of reasons.
Like?
>>No, it's not.
I haven't noticed it being particularily slow or buggy in any outstanding sense
>>53539274
>no drivers
wrong, every driver i needed came out of the box, except for one for a camera, but i'm probably one of 10 people on earth using it so thats not surprising
>there are a lot of games for linux and it's not the fault of linux that there are less then on windows
>no professional software
There is professional software for linux, just not exactly the programs you are used to
>bugs everywhere
now you're making shit up
>projects taken over by sjw and features removed by the dozen
Features removed? when?
Daily reminder to ignore nsa threads
>>53542132
>Like?
- coming support
- better wayland support
- less unnecessary copies in memories and other things
The only drawback I can think of is that the dev play russian roulette with it, but that's only different for gtk2 as it's unsupported
>I haven't noticed it being particularily slow or buggy in any outstanding sense
You might be lucky enough to have an i32 and have a distri where the moon is set right for mono + gtk# applications to work out good enough.
>>53538922
i don't see the problem here, but then again i disable thumbnails on winblows too
>>53538922
Works in cinnamon and LXDE. DE specific issue.
