That I've never heard of. But if /g/ says so, it must be a safe bet. Definitely not a shill this time!

the whole device looks like one compromise after another.

Just get a cheap android/windows tablet and use a ps3/360 controller.

Cheaper AND better than this single-use crap.
>>

I'm sure you've heard of every established company on the planet
>>

Let's see you put a tablet along with PS3 controller in your pocket
>>
>>53520715
So who are these GPD, what are they established doing?

When where they established?
What other products did they have?
Were they well received by the market?

Never heard of this GPD beofre and sounds like a cheap fly-by-nighter, it's on you to provide evidence they aren't since you want me to buy one.

There's another cherry trail atom that has four more EUs at the same frequency that can barely run TF2 at 720p on lowest settings. Good luck running anything apart from indie titles

>6000mah battery

>implying this thing weighs less than 900g.

The site might state '300g' but a 6000mah liPo battery is minimum 220grams (just as a pouch cell alone) so the site is clearly lying about specs.

Also it mentions 4GB of RAM and Free Windows due to being under 10.1", except that only counts for devices with 2GB or less RAM.

More lies.

This is straight up a fly-by-night scam.
>>
>>53520770
Yeah because videogames didn't exist until a few years ago

Oh wait
>>
Honest question, if this is an established company, why are they doing an indiegogo campaign?

Why don't they just release the product like a normal established company?
>>
>>53520787
>Also it mentions 4GB of RAM and Free Windows due to being under 10.1", except that only counts for devices with 2GB or less RAM.
There are other Chink tablets doing the same thing. I think Microsoft just let it slide, as Intel did with the guys using 4gb of ram with Atoms that were intended for 2.
>>
>>53520789
If you want to play games that are more than a decade old on a portable device then sure this is the product for you. I just don't see a lot of people buying it as a gaming device.
>>
>>53520787
>This is straight up a fly-by-night scam.
As is every other crowd funded campaign. When is /g/ going to pull it's collective head out of it's ass?
>>
>>53520806
it's more endearing. also, the campain can literally be the extent of their marketing.
>>
>>53520871
No it isn't, it's just scamming.

Especially choosing indiegogo, the one where if the campaign doesn't reach it's goal the owner can just cancel it without refunding a cent...

This is 100% scam terrirtory.
>>
>>53520853
CI40 was crowdfunded.
>>
>>53520806
Because they can. Compared to some of the absolutely massive guys like GE or Sony doing it this is pretty harmless. This would never in a million years sell for $500 though.

Mount and blade

But that's just playing games imagine installing a Linux distribution on it
>>
>>53520806
free money & exposure
>>
>>53520787
That's probably because they're only planning so far.

Besides - the price is really bad. Cheap tablet SoC and screen, like those $100 tablets, plus analog sticks and a keyboard... $300 (Half a year in advance mind you) is pretty overpriced but the final $500 price is just terrible.
>>
>>53522035
>All pre 2008 games on high graphics (yes atom GPUs are that good)
Yeah no, it should do stuff like oblivion or cod4 at low-med, and stuff like crysis at minimum, but this is thanks to the 720p resolution as well.

Maybe if they packed in a Core M processor
Maybe if they dropped in some Iris Pro graphics
Maybe if they gave it more capability than playing a 12 year old game at all-low settings at <720p at 40-50fps.

If they gave it any real power, it'd be a great buy. But, sadly, they cheaped out and they're likely just rebranding a fucking whitegood anyway.
>>
>>53520597
You might as well buy a PSP or Vita if you just want portable gaymen. They do that ten times better and both support the use of emulators.

Yeah, because two shit Bethesda games make up for the entire PSP library.

- Disgaea 1 and 2
- Persona 3 FES
- Lumines
- Loco Roco
- Katamari, FUCKING KATAMARI
- Portable Ops
- Two God of War games

People used to make fun of the PSP for not having shit to play. Sony handhelds seem to really shine on their way out the door for some fucking reason.

What happens when you put this processor in a tiny box with no fans or ventilation? It overheats just trying to play games on low settings. It actually loses to a last generation bay trail atom. Anyone buying this to play games is a certified retard.

A core M is an extra $200+ for marginal benefit that in a device this size will be lost to throttling
>>53523592
Yeah even if this can play your favorite game on low, it won't for long. This will likely be acceptable for 2D games and emulation. An undervolt might help a bit.

I'm still getting one.

They could have put an x5-z8300 in there for cheaper and had a lot fewer performance/throttling issues. Not only that but the price is insane for what you get (You can buy a brand new 11.6" netbook for $100 less) This thing is being put together by dumbass chinks.
