Bumping for interest.

It's cheaper to stick a cheap ssd in an external enclosure and it'll be faster than the top of the line 128gb flash drives.

I would have expected to be shat all over by Americans. >>53483227 prices are in AUD.
lol Kingston 128gb ssds are $36.69USD a pop at the local store,
Sandisk 128GB Cruzer Glides are $32.69USD
Transcend 128GB JF790Ws are $45.84USD and only has 90MB/s read, 40MB/s write
Transcend 128GB JF780s are $73.37USD and it's at 210/140MB/s
A Crucial BX200 240GB is $64.20USD, slap a cheap chink case on it and it'll blow the JF780 out of the water in read/write and storage capacity.

I was looking up usb 3 and 3.1 bandwidths to see if the r/w even matters on an ssd. Turns out both exceed its capabilities.
So it really depends on convenience. What would be the best price performance USB stick and how does it compare to a similarly priced SSD with a cheap enclosure.

no one gives a fuck about australia, fuck off.

I just find that even the more expensive USB 3.0 flash drives are painfully slow compared to even the bottom of the barrel SSDs, taking an hr or more on cheaper flash drives to fill them up is not my cup of tea.
SSDs faster, more reliable and in some cases cheaper than flash drives at the expense of being a bit bigger. I find that flash drives over 64GB just aren't worth it anymore when their prices creep into SSD territory.

If you don't mind paying out the ass for it, then this gets similar speeds to SSDs.
