What does iphones use all that storage for?
On android, I keep my music and applications and contacts. I have owncloud, so pictures are automatically backed up, and I can download them again if I need to.
If I were pressed on space I could just use mdp on my computer and stream the music to my phone.

I've got a rooted 16gb ipod touch, not an iphone admittedly, but the space is plenty for me. When i'm out and about I have 12gb of my favourite music, when i'm at home I have all the music I want regardless of physical storage.
