AMD are fucking gods.

7970 > 960
290 > 980
Fury X > 980Ti
Polaris? > Pascal?

cherrypicking and buyer's remorse
pathetic, even by AMD standards

This has been happening a lot lately, it's ridiculous to see a 3 years old rebranded card like the 390 beating the 970
Can't Nvidia get their shit together?

Fury X has almost twice the power draw of a 980ti though so the playing field isn't quite level.
>>
>>53371570
They did actually.

>BBBUUTT MUH FURYX WAS SLOWER THAN 980TI

390X was faster than both.
TitanX is fastest card period for GoWU

The game uses more than 6GB VRAM, so shit-tier 980/980ti and Furry family all run it like dogshit.

ouch nvidia. its a jew works title too. as a 980 owner, all i can say is.... wow, decent job amd and nvidia get your shit together.

seems like since windows 10 landed nvidia has been all goofed up.
>>
>>53372437
My 6970 peaked over 300 watts, I'm happy with the lower power.
>>
>>53372880
same here

had a 6950 and it would hit 270 watts.... didn't help i had two in crossfire...

swapped them with a 980 at release and couldn't be happier. the less power draw = less heat being dumped into my room.

living in the southwest... less heat = better

>Fury X has almost twice the power draw of a 980ti
And which of those graphs show that?
Average gaming load is 211W for 980 Ti and 246W for Fury X. Difference of 35W
Peak Gaming load is 238W for 980Ti and 280W for Fury X. Difference of 42W

Even if you were talking about the Maximum Power Consumption the difference is only 88W. Less than an incandescent, about the same amount as running 6 CFLs at once in your house, the only difference being that Maximum Power Consumption is never going to be continuous or sustained.
>>
>>53370684
Where is the 980ti?
>>
>>53371356
The game uses nvidia gameworks tech too.
>>
>>53370684
just remember if you're not sporting the latest high end intel cpu the amd numbers quickly fall below nvidia's.
>>
>>53372944
432W(Fury X) 277W(980ti)=155 not 88W and that is significant, when you calculate what kinda PSU you want, you'd take into account maximum load possible to account for any degradation in efficiency overtime.

And if you are running an i7 to remove the massive overhead then you probably have no problem affording Nvidia.

It's a catch 22.

>Buying enthusiast class GPU's without considering power draw
>Not being able to budget a build
>Expecting that upgrades to a PC won't require a PSU adjustment or replacement

Lets be honest. If you're buying a fat fucking graphics card and worrying about your power bills, you don't have your priorities straight. If you're buying a GPU in this class, 150 Watts is NOT significant. And if in your case it is, and you either can't post cause your PSU wont do it, or if you blow up your PSU. You deserve a housefire. And that much money and freedom shouldn't have been allocated to your monkeybrain in the first place. The fact that you would even consider blowing your wad of cash on something as extravagant as a 980Ti, then worry about the longevity of your PSU is an absurd self contradiction. Have you seen the 780Ti benchmarks?

Honestly fucking kill yourself. Your self destructive contradictions are abhorrent and unwelcome. The validity of your power consumption meme doesn't exist.
>>
>>53374242
Where in your universe does the Fury X draw 432 ALONE?! Mine does that at total system wattage with a 5820k.
>>
AMD always does this with updates 12/18 months later.

Do you guys not remember a thing past the most recent GPU series?

Every fucking time.
>>
>>53374404
>The validity of your power consumption meme doesn't exist.

This, why even buy a high-end gpu and evga meme psu if power consumtion is so important?

>muh power consumption
>muh 850w psu running at 50% @ load

it's as if they're implying that they could put more power through their card to match AMD's performance instead of realizing their cards are forever cucked and will only continue to get worse. kek

amd includes lots of nice stuff in their hardware
but can't optimize their drivers for shit and devs have to go through a learning curve to get the most out of it

nvidia makes nice drivers, but the biggest concern to have regarding their stuff is they make their cards with contemporary games in mind, focusing on what devs are doing *right now* rather than what they might be doing years from now.

Atleast, that's the feeling I'm getting.
>>
>>53376906

>but can't optimize their drivers for shit and devs have to go through a learning curve to get the most out of it

that's because nvidia has more resources and engineers working on drivers, that still doesn't mean that amd can't optimize their drivers - it just means they need more time to, which explains why most of the time amd drivers drop the next or two days after a game is released, but amd is getting better at this

the reason why nvidia thinks "right now" and not for the long haul is because they want users to keep buying a new card from them, which explains the whole gimping situation

"why should we give a shit about peoples 'right now' cards'"

2016 will be the year of amd

Shit man, I didn't know I was getting this cucked. AMD had absolutely shit drivers back then in Linux, but AMDGPU is really tempting me. Besides, I'm hating how Nvidia is doing things. Really hoping Polaris is a killer so I can buy their very highest end.

I can't calm down, I'm just so happy for based AMD.

>Fury X > 980Ti

you wish

fury X with it's water cooling doesn't even beat the well-known G1 from Gigabyte, not to mention it won't beat for sure newer cards which have higher stock clocks and some even water-cooling blocks

keep meme-ing faggot

I don't even have a fucking nvidia card on my setup but i know a shill when i see one
