What's the best linux antivirus? I'm using clamtk/clamav, is that enough?
>>
>>53361148
What are you using that requires an anti-virus?
>>
>>53361155
Nothing special, i just want to be safe.
>>
>>53361179
Then you don't need one... Just don't install shifty looking shit.
>>
install a firewall instead, learn how to configure iptables and drop that antivirus and your windows mentality.

same as in windows, brain

I recommend checking if your vaccines are up to date, and don't suck a guy who has herpes

>antivirus in Linux

This is only good if you're serving outside files to windows clients that need it

If you're not, just back away from the poisonous windows habits you've obviously fallen into
>>
>>53361148
not sure if bait but...
just a remainder, clamav checks for windows viruses only

Yes, you utter fucktard - it's a *nix program to check for Windows viruses. Do I need to draw you a picture....

*nix servers often serve files to Windows clients. This is what clamav is for, it's not going to stop you getting owned on Linux. You can look into setting up Tripwire or some other kind of IDS, if you must.

If you really care about security though, you should probably be running OpenBSD and learning about how exploits actually work rather than looking for Windows snakeoil.

Lmao, OpenBSD?
You mean the certain secure called W^X they got in OpenBSD?
You mean the same OS that has no virtualization support?
You mean the same OS that you can't can't upgrade without either a ugly hack, pay up or re-download it every new release?
You mean the same OS with no packages?

>Learn about exploits

You mean learn to program and debug?

>You mean the certain secure called W^X they got in OpenBSD?
No - I mean the plethora of exploit mitigations OpenBSD has pioneered, of which W^X is just one:

Ugly hack? WTF are you talking about? It's literally one command.

So, what do you think? Is Linux immune to viruses? I hope your answer is "no." That answer, and the prevention it inspires, will keep your Linux machine virus free for years to come. Personally, I have used Linux for twelve years and not had a virus or any malicious software on any of my personal machines or servers. If you are cautious like me, you too can enjoy virus-free computing for years. But if you fall into the trap of believing that Linux is perfectly immune to viruses, you very well might fall victim to that naivety.
>>
>>53370738
That's what a virus looks like
>>
The only thing viral related on Linux that happens to me was a browser hijack via Firefox
>>
Linux sucks, shitty software, can barely recognize most software, a pain to get it to work, and to add to the mix, it's unsafe as fuck.

I rather fall for the windows 10 meme.
>>
>>53361148
most people that develop malare have never heard of Linux And the ones that do develop malware don't make it on Linux because over 90% of the world runs windows
