thoughts on icecat? with firefox dying a slow death, and bot/ad-nets as the only other alternatives, i'm looking to jump ship
>inb4 palemoon
tried it, didnt like it. seemed buggy and full of drama on the developer side
>one of the vi firefox interfaces
i use a mouse, sue me

anything else with extensive customizability/addons? i'm gonna miss firefox when it croaks
>>
going to a firefox knockoff because firefox is dying isn't going to help when all those knockoffs are dependent on the original
>>
>>53351344
Pale moon isnt dependent on Firefox anymore

i tried palemoon maybe 5-6 months ago, it was buggy as shit with my addons, especially greasemonkey
>Pale moon isnt dependent on Firefox anymore

>>
>>53352136
Runs on its own engine, own addons, own security updates... Not sure what there is to explain

Says who? You?
>>
>>53350120
It's normal firefox plus librejs and a link to the fsf addons site.
>>
>>53351400

I tried to use Pale Moon and wanted to like it, but there's several sites that just wouldn't work at all. We vivaldi now

Join us in windows 10 and google chrome.

Do not be afraid of the botnet. we are one.
>>
IceCat is actually more botnet than Firefox because features such as LibreJS CANNOT be removed.

My only problem with Pale moon is that it requires a lot of additional addons to make it look decent in [current year]. Seems a tad faster than vanilla Firefox otherwise and they seem to respect your freedumbs.

>too many tabs opened

why?
>>
>>53359618
There's an extension made from its source code with an actual dev maintaining it.

Learn to fucking bookmark.
It astounds me that people adapted tabs as a way to store places they want to visit later, ignoring the functionality already in place to do this.
>>
>>53360004
not him but ever since tabbed browsing was introduced, ive always used them for saving stuff for later. i have 70-100 tabs open all the time

Tabgroups will be continued as an addon, so you won't loose the functionality.

Midori if it actually gets fixed for https on debian. And if it supports HTML5 properly.

Qutebrowser. If only the greasemonkey PR could be merged already.
>>
SeaMonkey is okay I guess
>>
>>53360746
So, it'll never be an option?
>>
Why do you people use Firefox based browsers at all. Use chrome if you are worried about muh bot net, just get chromium. You can even compile it yourselves if your that autistically paranoid.

I have been playing with different browsers over many years and none of them have satisfied me more than chromium base ones
