I fucking hate browsing my image folders on windows bo7ne7, is there any software to sort them by color scheme, resolution and shit?
what are photographers using for this kind of stuff?
I think you can do that with Adobe Lightroom or Bridge, but they're pretty clunky.

Bumping for interest. Also would like a tagging program and unicode support if possible.

Well, if you're going to be on Windows anyway, you can use Explorer to tag JPEGs (also TIFFs if you don't mind converting PNGs). You can sort by and group by tags, resolution, width, height, orientation, date, etc (not colors though). Another handy trick is to search for "-type:folder" and group by folder name. This basically flattens your folders so you can browse images from a bunch of subfolders at once. For viewing images, just select the ones you want and drag them into Honeyview.
If you want something with external tagging, there's programs like Bridge (uses sidecar files) and ThumbsPlus (uses a database).
