There were a couple other warnings claiming that I didn't have a kernel so other installations wouldn't work right, but I actually don't have a kernel so I guess I can safely ignore them.

After my first install of Gentoo i wrote a script that autoinstalls with luks on lvm requires me only typing password, then i happly migrated all my VMs to Gentoo

It means your kernel configuration is missing that setting. (You did configure your kernel, right? go back and add that option)

Yes. The image I posted was of the tail end of the @world update which is listed just prior to kernel configuration, after profile selection.
