I'm running plasma 5 on my X201 and the CPU temps are lower than with MATE.
Also everything is snappy.
KDE 4 was a shit fest, Plasma 5 is probably the best DE out now.

Right now I'm on Windows, but I use KDE on my Linux laptop and dualboot. Plasma 5, however, is unusable, crashes all day.

Last time i used it sound would fuck up when i connected my mics, wifi would go to hell after resuming and once in a while one of my cores usage would be 100% even when nothing else was running.
